The tendency of philosophy to migrate from the philosophy faculties into social science, cultural
studies,
gender studies and elsewhere has also been evident in Britain, and in several universities narrowly focused philosophy
departments are supplemented by a more diverse philosophical diet in theology and religious

So the team calculated what the expected
gender ratios would be if the psychologists in their
study were just randomly collaborating with members of their own
departments.
