Sadly while Kobo has the largest
German ebook store by number of titles, it has yet to make a serious impact in Germany.

The intention behind the Vision was to be the definitive device to own if you speak
German and taps into an extensive
eBook Store with over 1.2 million titles.
If you want to sell the
German edition of your book, putting it up on Amazon.de is probably a good idea (more on the different

German ebook market (with 45 % market share in the third quarter of 2014, that's more than Amazon had with 39 %!).

German based company who is one of the largest
ebook stores focusing on the local market.
Kobo offers more than 80,000
German language titles and a total of 2.5 million
eBooks, delivering the largest

German eReading community.
Germany has the Tolino, an
ebook reader and associated
stores that are run by a group of
German publishers and they have a significant chunk of the market.
Kobo's
German store will be launching in early October and can be found at www.kobobooks.de with
German - language best sellers, the hottest new releases and classics that are part of the 80,000 title
German eBook library.
Amazon.com launched its
German Kindle
store earlier this year, and despite a sluggish response at first, reports that
ebooks are finally taking off in Western Europe are trickling in.
Part of the push in sales has to do in large part with the publishing house signing key deals with
ebook distribution platforms, including the
German Amazon
store.

eBook market in Germany seemed to go under the radar until TeleRead brought it back again to our attention.

By summer 2013 they were estimated to have grabbed 34 % of the
German ebook market.The Tolino Alliance comprise Thalia, WeltBild, Hugendubel, Buecher, Deutsche Telecom and Bertelsmann, who together are selling the Tolino e-reader and tablet across some 1500 retail
stores.
So with Amazon Germany, Apple Germany and Bild does that makes three
ebook stores for
