I even
got questioned for detracting from the thread, though my intent was to offer my personal struggle with what the thread eventually evolved
into, while feeling for genuinely for Julie (based upon her willingness to divulge to a public blog her
side of the
story), and while questioning all along what really happened given others» pov on all this.
Now the plot takes a bit to
get into as it's told in two
stories: The cops
side and the victims
side.
You can pretty much guess that this
side story gets twisted
into the main one before the film wraps up.
It could have done without a few of the «artistic flourishes» when we
get unnecessary shots of the protagonist staring
into the sun etc, a romantic
side -
story doesn't add much either and the very end is set up a little awkwardly and obviously earlier on, but overall this is a finely made and quietly powerful piece of intelligent adult filmmaking.
Remember the original hardly had the beginnings of a smart plot, with their leads wanting to
get girls
into bed and the rest of the
story being, fairly,
side - lined.
Including a crossword - puzzle enthusiast (Jeffrey Wright), an animal - loving widow (Mary Beth Hurt), a group of slacker friends (including Jared Harris) and my personal favorite, a guy who only works out one
side of his body (Freddie Rodriguez), the tenants are slowly drawn
into the fantastical events of
Story's world with one purpose: help her
get back home.
Teenagers can
get solutions to their dilemmas by watching the two -
sided stories in the video section; the videos address such topics as obsessive texting, pressuring for naughty pictures, and breaking
into e-mai or social Web sites.
One respondent told us that her 3rd grader
got into a fight with his teacher and «swung on her» because «he said she was choking him and he was trying to
get away... it's two
sides to every
story.
Part 2 - give them the next 2 pages (print two
into one again two
sides per student) and
get them to write the list of words they created in order to make a twisted version of this history
story.
On the fiction
side, I only have time at the moment for short
stories and novellas, so I'm
getting stuck
into some anthologies.
It is an eye - opening glimpse
into the other
side of a
story that so few people around the world
get to learn.
While I haven't finished, I can already tell that Kratos is growing as a character, and despite being maybe 1/3 of the way
into the
story, I'm
getting a lot of
side story from doing the
side stuff, and it's apparent to see that Kratos is struggling.
The focus on
side -
stories and exploration harken back to Mass Effect 1, and once you
get into the rhythm of exploring planets, completing interesting
side quests and improving your arsenal, there is a substantial and satisfying space adventure to be found here.
The game's combat is competent and enjoyable to partake in, but the repetitive nature of each
Side Story will makes it hard to
get completely absorbed
into them.
For instance, at one point I was fighting some rebels along
side Codsworth, and since Codsworth loves to
get deep
into the fight he usually has a tendency to
get right in front of me whenever I am about to shoot or hit something, meaning I probably nudged him in the back a few times too many, anyway, long
story short, Codsworth flipped out on me and started attacking me.
I has, as mentioned earlier take the best from previous releases and packed it all
into this incredible adventure that is GTA V. I took me around 20 + hours to
get through the
story mode and by spending that much time with it I also tried my best not to
get side tracked with the
side missions but it was too hard.
Unfortunately public perception is too often driven by scary one -
sided stories that have to be rebutted by
getting into details.
Occasionally the police will take a statement from the car driver and will not even try to communicate with the cyclist — so do as much as possible to
get your
side of the
story into the accident report.
