Arsenal have sealed a deal to tie key striker Olivier
Giroud down to a
new contract
at the Emirates Stadium, with the player comitting himself to the
club until 2018, according to the Daily Mirror.
At least we all agree that Arsenal need a different striker to rely on even though
Giroud is the top goal scorer in the
club — need either Akpom or Campbell or a
new transfer but
Giroud will NEVER satisfy the fans — nah gunna appen.
In his debut season the centre forward often struggled
at his
new club and while a bit of confidence clearly helps,
Giroud did not hide when things were going wrong and has proven his ability to shrug off disappointments and bounce back before.
Despite Olivier
Giroud's broken ankle, it seems that Arsenal are in the process of offering the Frenchman a
new contract to keep him
at the
club until 2018.
This decision says more (again in my opinion) about Vardy's willingness to strike out in a
new direction and potentially compete with someone like Olivier
Giroud for minutes so late in his career, rather than remaining
at a
club where he already has established himself as the main man.
