Besides, if you can't understand what
Giroud brings to the team, go watch our games against Crystal Palace, Everton and Leicester.
With all the talk of Arsenal's interest in a new striker, it was a reminder for people to not forget the qualities
Giroud brings to the team.

Wilshere should have been
brought in
to create and add danger, speed
to our game, Walcot some more and
Giroud if needed... Ozil being supposed
to sit apparently... So, it is no referee, but a
team as reflecting manager... If owners and Wenger himself do not get a huge container of coffee, we will finish 12 and he will be doing the walk of shame, leave himself remembered as a loser... What they need
to do NOW is
bring Henry
to assist him and do the job, boost, get players focused with winning spirit he has in him... Then wenger can sit all season long, bench himself as he does and watch henry do the running and screaming as other manager dio... Then we will be in top 3, meaning third; there's now way
to ctach up the Manchesters and if we do nt wake up now, we will fight for fourth place; the spurs will distance us and fight for second or third.
Play Laca as a central striker so he can get used
to the PL and his
team mates as soon as possible,
bring Giroud in as super sub.
obviously I would prefer
to have a much more suitable alternative in the defensive midfielder positions but if they focused more on defensive end and the occasional long - ball, this would allow Bellerin and Sead ample opportunities
to bomb forward on their respective wings while still having enough cover
to maintain their defensive shape... it would likewise allow for overlapping runs on both wings, thereby letting both Sanchez and Perez
to cut inside and get shots away in and around the top of the box with their most dominant feet... if goals were needed I would sub Bellerin for OX and
bring Ramsey in for Elneny then switch
to a 3 -2-4-1 (more of a 3 -1-5-1 with Ramsey playing higher up the pitch) and I would only use
Giroud as a sub when the game dictated it for tactical reasons... this would allow us
to be a high energy
team with incredible link - up play and a much more direct approach in the offensive end
Didier Deschamps regularly selects
Giroud and then
brings Lacazette off the bench and I reckon this could be the way forward for Arsenal, for now at least while the new striker settles in
to English football and finds his feet in the Arsenal
team.
This article must be a joke, darn he did it again (Wenger) another year of sorrow, hope the last one, but came
to the conclusion after watching the Euros that is not the players, Ramsey a phenomenon,
Giroud not that awful as a striker, is da man, Le Prof the problem,
bringing the Asian superstar just proves that his plight is
to increase the owners profit with no regards in building a contending
team filling up the gaps....
Fair enough, I just wonder if he'd still be playing top flight football if he had been at United from the start with such a horrendous injury record, Fergie would have shipped him off ages before his eventual recovery, dare I say he was destined
to win the Premier league the season he won it with United anyways, he was the hottest striker in the league for those two seasons, the only thing we lacked in his final season at Arsenal was enough creativity behind him and a lack of suitable replacement
to take ocassionally take the load off him, but then Cazorla, Poldi and
Giroud had been
brought in for re-inforcements, he played with a patently inferior
team to Arsenal's that season at United, with the exception of Rooney of course, he single handedly carried them
to the title, what away
to show loyalty.
He might finish better than Welbeck or
Giroud but he
brings nothing else
to the
team whatsoever.
Wenger might surprise us all and start Theo instead of
Giroud and play the big man against
teams that try
to play rugby or
bring him on
to help hold up play in the oppositions half
to hold a lead.
Not many people would prefer
Giroud over RVP in a 1 on 1 situation, however
Giroud does do more for the
team in terms of one - twos and holding it up
to bring our other attackers into play.
I can put the
Giroud one down
to whatever, but telling
teams to break us in half is another thing altogether, esp when we are trying
to bring through young hopefuls.
With the core of the
team in place — Cech, the back four, Coquelin, Cazorla, Sanchez, Ozil, Campbell and
Giroud, the new arrivals will
bring little disruption
to the squad.
Regardless of peoles opinions on Vardy and his suitability with us he has scored more goals that our so called striker It will be interesting
to see what happens over the Euro's as France are a very strong
team and if
Giroud is leading the line and they do well, it could prompt other sied
to look at him in a different light Wenger as usual will sit on his hands until the last days of the window now he has
brought on one player Forgey Mihkatarin we wont be getting himdespite the fact he likes us Wenger WONT like his price tag
Sorry, but
to me,
Giroud is not only an average starter (but a good sub, he also
brings the level of the entire
team down.
I think only barca real or Bayern can tempt those players away from leicester, they would give at least a year
to the club, but season after that they will move onto other club depending on their form next season. As for arsenal transfer i wouldn't want
to listen
to rumours as most of the times these rumours are just utter garbage.i want a certain rumour about Wolfsburg signing
giroud to be true.Anyways if our idiotic manager has some sense left in him after an embarrassing season he should get a premium striker which the club needed for past 4 years. He need
to put his ego aside and his old philosophy of waiting for players
to develop. We need already established players in every department of our
team.Penny pinching has cost us just pay the damn money get the players.I get the feeling next season is going
to be harder and we have less chance of winning cause man city have had 2 seasons without premier league and guardiola is gonna
bring more quality and hunger
to that
team.
There are many Arsenal fans that are not impressed with Olivier
Giroud, despite being one of the highest goalscorers in the League, but do they even take into account the rest of the qualities he
brings to the
team.
It has been talked about ever since he first arrived in north London from Montpellier that
Giroud brings a lot more
to the
team than goals.
Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due
to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been
brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough
to overcome such difficulties: not
to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming
to a Wenger - led Arsenal
team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally
Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure
to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on
Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a
team that has struggled
to take their sideways soccer
to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the
team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
I believe lacazate will
bring the best out of
giroud because of the price tag but lacazate needs more time
to gel into the
team.
The club are lacking a dynamic winger who will provide quality support
to French duo Alexandre Lacazette and Olivier
Giroud, as signing a conventional winger will almost certainly
bring more creativity and goals
to an Arsenal
team that lack both of those qualities from time
to time.
Wenger's decision
to leave Ozil in the
team and
bring Welbeck back was rewarded after 11 minutes, as Welbeck burst down the right and found
Giroud whose mishit shot fell
to Ozil who finished in style.
Your comments are very naive and idiotic.Even if he had a limited budget at that time it's not as if every player would cost him a fortune. Also it's not about the limited budget that makes him support his players
to perform. It's his philiosophy.Even till this day he tends
to support and persist with his players
to bring out the best in them.If you think I don't know what am saying wait till they get fit.On
Giroud if we are
to be honest he should have been dropped long ago even in his second season. It was never rocket science
to know that the guy ws not starter quality.Tell me which
team would have persisted with
Giroud as a starter more than Arsenal. He failed long ago and was really really benched like just last season. As for Szcz Wenger also did persist with him during the times he still wasn't performing.I hope people won't deny this.He persisted till he could take no more of it.That was the reason why he
brought Ospina into the starting 11.
subbing in Xhaka, Ramsey against such
team and (as much as I hate
to admit it)
bringing in
Giroud aerial ability in 2nd half of such games were penetration is impossible is the solution against such
teams.
for 3 years we've needed a striker and a stong CDM all the pundits say is arsenal need a top striker and a cdm
to anchor the
team and
bring strenth
to our
team which is true and 3 years later and the same problems if we
brought in a player like calvarho and a good striker and right now i know we'd all take Balotelli or remy over
giroud we'd be a great
team and it's been that way for such a long time now i just don't see why we add these two keey pieces....
Danny is a 15 minute player, after 15 minutes of each game he just disappears and all he does is run, close down, lose passes, he just does not give much as a striker, we down talk
Giroud but he gives us more than danny, he will work hard, assist, score sometimes and
bring this
team mates into play... Welbeck has got the worst link up play ever, his first touch is so bad, whenever the ball gets
to him we know it won't stick and that means he will be chasing down the ball due
to his poor first touch.
lets just establish that now... A man with genuine intent
to win the league would firstly adress the the issue of squad depth both from a tactical perspective as in being able
to bring in different personel an completley alter the way the
team plays... you cant keep using the same players and the same formation and tactics every game
teams will work it out... you wonder why
Giroud is on a goal drought.
Giroud just is not good enough and thats the facts here, we would have been three goals up with a real world class striker, regardless of Ozil and sanchez current form if we had
brought in a real DM player then we'd have won points at other games and this would be just a blip,
teams do loose games and they do have off days, the real problem lays in the fact that Wenger has no real top notch choices
to mix and match with is he has slumps with his current squad.
It has come
to this thanks
to Wenger, missing out another above average player such as
Giroud, we had hopes with Welbeck as he had a couple of good games, but don't forget he is a REJECT from MANURE and he was the best that Wenger could find the stingy POS
brought ARSENAL
to this a midlevel
team....
Recently when we
bring Giroud on we lose an outlet and allow
teams to come onto ya late in games we were previously comfortable in.
We are stuck with Wenger at the moment so we can only hope
to see one of his favourites [Sanogo] on the
team, one who at least has attributes that his other favourite [
Giroud] seriously lacks in [pace and mental strength] while we hope he
brings in a decent striker.
Giroud becomes a SQUAD player,
bring him on in last 10 - 15 mins kinda thing
to hold up ball or against
teams that like
to play rugby (cough stoke cough).
Arsene Wenger is not renowned for making many additions
to his Arsenal side in the January transfer window, but he may be forced
to bring in some new faces if both Olivier
Giroud and Mathieu Debuchy get their wish
to depart for first
team football in the New Year.
In May at Anfield, Wenger who lost home and away
to Liverpool last season thought the best way
to win at Anfield this season was
to bench Lacazert the record signing,
Giroud the dependable striker as well as Kolasinic an international defender who was
brought to Arsenal
to strengthened the
team.
Henry spoke also about how
Giroud needs the players around him
to bring out his best and I can agree with that, As Henry pointed out,
Giroud has not the pace or individual brilliance of a Suarez or a Messi but it is precisely the way he works with his
team mates that makes him so good.
tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day
to day
to the last syllable of endless gallic bullshit....4 th place junkies wetting themselves over 3rd place finish should realise that other
teams will be strengthening in summer definitely the others in top 4 and always a surprise or two outside... wenger has f @@@@@ us over for ten years now selling top players and
bringing in a string of jokers... yes that changed with ozil and sanchez... but
giroud coquelin and monreal while all decent and can help us
to another 4th place but not beyond that (coquelin could still be a top class player but ai nt there yet) walcott and podolski will never deliver and merteshaker would not be in any other top 15
team in europe... so the idea that the squad is on the cusp of greatness is moronic and confirmed by end of season performance... we need four quality signings but i would settle for two (attacker plus DM) and an upgrade (left back)..
Instead of fixating on replacing
Giroud to get maybe 4 - 6 extra goals a season (and contrary
to accepted popular belief there are very few if any supporters who would be upset if an upgrade came in) why can't we a bit more imaginative about this; conceding 10 less goals could have won us the title just as easily, further refining our balance between defence and attack, building on the cohesion and fledgling confidence we have built - up may, just may,
bring bigger benefits than ripping the spine of the
team out and starting again.
Coupled with some shortage of lack, I feel that the
team lacks aggresiveness... they need
to be more goal hungry, Welbeck needs to remember he was brought as an upgrade to Giroud, TO SCORE GOAL
to be more goal hungry, Welbeck needs
to remember he was brought as an upgrade to Giroud, TO SCORE GOAL
to remember he was
brought as an upgrade
to Giroud, TO SCORE GOAL
to Giroud,
TO SCORE GOAL
TO SCORE GOALS!
As it stands, this squad is fairly well positioned
to compete for the Wenger Cup and make a deep run in the Europa, if and only if we play first stringers in Europe and use the bench for the League and FA Cups... that being said, and based on the fragility of the manager and the
team in recent campaigns, it's more likely that Wenger will focus on a top 4 finish and the FA Cup... while the reasons for such an approach may appear logical, it would confirm a rather disturbing trend and appear counter intuitive for any
team which claims
to have higher aspirations... I feel that Wenger simply can't afford
to put all his eggs in the Europa basket because if he fails the potential backlash could cripple any top 4 chances due
to the aforementioned fragile psyche that tends
to rear it's ugly head like our own personal groundhog day each and every February... furthermore, can you even imagine Wenger
bringing in the necessary recruits
to adequately supply top quality lineups in a Thursday / Sunday dominated schedule; based on everything I've seen in recent years, I can't see that happening... in fact, mark my words, it's more likely that we see Lacazette playing out wide in Alexis's position with
Giroud at striker, than we see Wenger make the necessary moves
to right this ship... god, I hope I'm wrong but is it really that far - fetched considering what we've witnessed for past several years
Giroud is very important in the
team at least he will make competition for places upfront
to be tough which will inevitably
bring out the best in our strikers.
These people are clinicial ot say the least,
Giroud suits the France
team since his style is
to bring players from behind him foward, he builds up, fall deep
to link with wingers
to make foward runs, win headers, add dynamic.
The big
team news is that the Frenchman has
brought Yaya Sanogo back into the centre forward position
to replace the injured
Giroud, moving the Chile international Alexis Sanchez back out
to the right.
Here is my list of players from the 29 that can be sold released or loan, which will
bring the over 21 year old first
team squad down
to just 21 players Szczesney Martinez Macey Debuchy Flamini Arteta Rosicky Sanogo This then gives us space for 4 new signings, personally I think that would be enough if we go with this squad for next season Cech ospina Huddart (under 21) Jenkinson Bellerin (u21) New signining, Mertesacker Koscielny Gabriel Monreal Gibbs New signing Coquelin chambers (u21) Elneny wilshire ramsey New Signing, walcott, chamberlain Ozil, iwobi (u21) toral (u21) Alexis, Campbell, Wellington New signing, Welbeck,
giroud
Should stop worrying about left back and
bring in quality attacking option... If isco is available should get him Sanchez
giroud / welbeck isco ozil should be ok
to keep us there or thereabouts... With Campbell as back up... ox on loan Walcott sold
to some Middle East
team with more money than sense... Or test Bilbao on the Williams kid suspect they might take 25 even with his buy out clause upped... need something... We r 2 points above spurs right now with a much poorer goal difference
I think we did well today, we tire them out and Wenger
brought in Gibbs for pace, which was a good change... If They hadn't scored in the first half and
Giroud had put one of those headers away, it would have been a whole different match all together... I think Campbell did well, he might be a little slow but he is gelling well with the
team and getting better, he doesn't just burst forward without purpose and when he did today, it took a good save from Iloris
to keep it out and he got a round of applause from both the fans and his
team mates, which
to me is good and will only boost his confidence and that's one thing we haven't seen in quite some time, a proper right winger.
However even if
Giroud doesn't score he does a lot
to help the
team and
bring other players into the game.
here is the simple truth a
team that has walcott
giroud campbell merteshaker flamini and ramsey starting wont win trophies... not one is a top class player in their position... having two on the park on regular basis is not a problem and three can probably still ensure 4th place... if we want
to go beyond that we need
to bring in two top class players in
to the midfield and attack (thats in addition
to the quality returnees we do have) and
to increase the work rate particulalry when we do nt have the ball by a good ammount... that was true 3 years ago 3 months ago and 3 days ago... wenger had the nerve recently
to say not signing an outfielder in the summer had been vindicated... the man has been drinking his own kool aid
we need
to sell the first
team cry babies now that their value is high and get people who can perform against all
teams... ozil,
giroud, wilshere would
bring quite an amount
to the club....
Oxlade - Chamberlain has registered goals and assists in the last couple of weeks and now
Giroud has offered an impressive reminder of what he can
bring to the
team.
Olivier
Giroud — reportedly the linchpin in a three -
team deal that would send him
to Chelsea and
bring Aubameyang
to Arsenal — and new boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan were sent on in the second half
to try and salvage matters.
