Giroud is in good form against teams with average defenses but Giroud still has trouble with teams with good defense and big matches ie Monaco
Not exact matches
the problem isnt even
giroud the problem we have
is that we miss an atleast equally
good striker, lets
be honest we all know that
giroud is a striker who has patches when he has his scoring patch he scores almost at a rate of one goal / assist per game and
is in a worldclass
form, the prob
is if his annual dry patch comes we need an equally
good striker
Arsene Wenger has always denied any interest
in ANY player until a deal has
been sealed, and he would certainly not want to disturb Olivier
Giroud while he
is in such fantastic
form, so there could
be a
good case to
be made for the Arsenal denials.
1
good game of
giroud and people
are thinking he
is back
in form... what about the previous 15 matches where he didn't score..
As for
Giroud I hope what I
'm hearing
is not true. You get the feeling that once Lacazette starts scoring he just won't like it.He
's also another overrated player who
's also hear because of Wenger
's kindness.Apart from the fact that he
's good with his head I don't see the positives of keeping here and even Welbeck. We need players who can push Lacazette to perform and these
are just not the players.They
are more of rotation players.Do you think if Welbeck and
Giroud were at top
form they can challenge Laca at his best?I always laugh at our strikers though. On one hand, one doesn't fit our style of play but at least he can finish. On the other hand, the one who fits our style of play can't even score a goal.I can't believe we
are joking with such a crucial role.I
'm sick and tired of seeing average strikers
in the club.It
's been painful watching the likes of Bendtner and Chamakh already. Now I have to cope with this.
Jut imagine if our strikers would have added those finishing touch
in thier ranks apart from
good team play, where we would have
been now Its not late at all, if Sanchez and
Giroud discovers their
form, I
am sure we will win the league

@john0711 I
was asking of players worse than
Giroud for Arsenal
in terms of finishing.I consisered finishing only.Out of your list when all
are in form you can argue that Walcott
is better.But
in terms of finishing he
's the worst of that lot.Only Gervinho
's finishing
is worse. The guy doesn't deserve this club and so does many of our current players.Face reality he
's odinary and if you
were a manager and wanted success would you put
in a # 30 bid for
Giroud?Yet his stats suggest he may
be worth # 30 showing the contradiction between stats and real life. The earlier we get some average players out of our club and stop defending the indefensible the
better for us all. With this kind of mentality success will
be far from this club.
Giroud may not have
been in the
best form for Chelsea recently, but the 31 - year - old could hardly miss here after such a gift from the hapless Ospina
in the opposition goal.
I just don't know what
's wrong with Arsenal fans.Sure I get it as humans we all have our preferences but things start to look funny when we begin to bash and criticize a player like he
's useless.I just don't get why Arsenal fans do nt want Vardy.Oh
is it because he
's not world class, he
's English, He
's not a big name, he
's a fairy tale, you feel all he does
is run, he
's not got a
better history
in footballing until now or you feel
Giroud is better or what?I really pity Arsenal fans honestly.I would've taken Jamie Vardy
in a heartbeat.Sure he
's not the
best option out there. But I'll say this and say it again it
's not a world class striker that wins you a league but rather just increases your chances of winning the league. If you've watched Arsenal clearly from the time since Henry left you realized that it
's more of not
being able to find a clinical striker.Eduardo
was not a already a finished product when he started his career here yet he
was clinical and
was on world class
form until injury. What Arsenal need now
is a world class finisher if they can't get a world class striker.
If Ramsey
is in good form, then he must start, we can replace Rosicky at half time or 50 - 55 mins... I would leave Ozil / Cazorla to Le Prof, though he might choose both, I would start Walcott, because he can make runs
in behind defences, just like
in the Monaco game, only if he can improve his finishing for that match, Sanchez should carry on the passing game, and as a true winger, should provide crosses to
Giroud just like Waloctt, because
Giroud has great heading ability...
I think most arsenal supporters love
Giroud and wish him the
best in recovery, he has done
well in the style of play that Wenger has
been using for the past couple years, and
was doing a fine job last season which we could have won the title if it
was not for injuries, no business january and his lost of
form due to workload.
2) No leaders across the pitch: Özil for all the money
is no leader but a technically gifted player who can split a defense with an exquisite vision and pass, Sanchez for all the dribbles as the potential but
is not there yet, Cazorla will never
be in the conversation, Mertesacker
is not fit to
be one anymore, Coquelin for all the
good he has done
is too tender and inexperience,
Giroud no WC player to assume the role... the only one who can seriously
be a leader
is Wilshere but unfortunately until he becomes consistent and set the tone with his talent and passion... 3) Mertesacker
is a shell of himself and it would
be an embarrassment to see him continue to play
in his current
form, get Gabriel out just for the sake of showing anybody
in this team that there
's no place for under performers: we paid
good money to get him so play him!
Injury related with
Giroud and Welbz out at the time but team
was in by far
best form of season with him playing up top.
no one ordered the man to build a strike force around walcott and
giroud or to put a quid on suarez «
s asking price or to bring
in nogo and park (or perez for that matter) or to sell gnabry and play iwobi regularly or to have ramsey playing
in every position bar goalkeeper or to take 7 years to work out how to get the
best from Ox or to believe merteshaker
was alright for the epl when he
was way past his international sell by date or to forego a world class DM for 5 years and then plonk down 30 odd mill on an average swiss international or try out a series of makeshift right backs and hope bellerin would maintain his earlier
form and fitness... stan n`chips and co
are certainly a shocking example of contemporary football ownership but on the pitch its all down to wenger and his delusions
Arsenal fans
are quick to say
Giroud is on
form but to
be honest he
's better as a sub, every time he starts he puts
in a typical woeful
Giroud performance of slowing up our play!
As for
Giroud, I
'm really concerned for his future at the club, with Arsenal finding they have a much
better striker
in the
form of a converted Alexis Sanchez.
We do have the French centre forward Olivier
Giroud but his abilities
are much different to the Chilean's and so even though he
is a
good option who has
been in good form he
is also a very different one and the Gunners would have to change our current playing style.
The Frenchman accepted that
Giroud is now
in a much
better frame of mind and his
form is good after scoring for France and bagging goals from the bench
in the last two Arsenal games against Bayern Munich and Watford.
I just can't believe that we have become a joke we always start the season
well then have a bumpy December and by the time Feb comes our
form has taken a dip and we get kicked out of all competitions except for that valuable top 4 that the board loves so much... ultimately if Arsenal want to compete again we need changes from the bottom up... Kroenke and his board need to go cause clearly for them profits matter more than trophies... Wenger needs to go for his lack of tactical naus guy has
been using the same fornation since I
was in high school and I
'm doing my honours
in accounting now... our medical team must all go our players always get injured and they never come back
in time (take a look at Santi) players like Coquelin Theo Mesut Gabriel Gibbs
Giroud just to name a few need to go they
're just not
good enough seriously these players lack fight tactical Discipline and tactical awareness... at the end of the day change needs to happen things can't keep going like this for us....
fingers crossed welbz comes
good because it
's euros soon so he has to, with the
form all the other English bpl strikers
are in he has alot to prove but i believe
in him, remember our boy welbz scored his first hatrick for us
in his first season
giroud only got his first this year after how long
being at the club...........
Walcott
is the reason we
were able to beat Bayern 2 - 0 at the Emirates and when he got injured, we lost heavily to Bayern by a whopping 5 - 1
in the return leg
in spite of
Giroud's
good form.
The boss also alluded to his lack of time on the pitch
in recent weeks but reminded the player that Olivier
Giroud has
been in good form since his return from months out with injury.
A fit Sturridge alone
is better than Welbeck,
Giroud, Walcott, Ox, Ramsey, Campbell and even maybe Sanchez
in his current
form.
The Gunners
are chasing the 22 - year - old despite the
good form of current striker Olivier
Giroud, who has 17 goals
in 27 appearances this season, whilst Morata has netted just 12 times
in 35 games for the Old Lady of Italian football.
I think its worth playing
Giroud bcos vs barca we will need pace on the counter (not
girouds strong point) and set pieces cud
be key (Walcott isn't exactly a tank) Who has pace and strength up top for Arsenal??? Welbeck!!!! Plus he
is in good form and high on confidence after Leicester.
The 26 - year - old England international has
been in good form of late, forcing Arsene Wenger to leave Olivier
Giroud out of his starting eleven
in recent matches.
When there
was more competition
in the
form of Sanchez,
Giroud, and Welbeck, Walcott
was only too happy to run back to the wing and
is now having one his
best seasons over the last 3 years or so.
«
Giroud is very
good but not
in form right now» when that
form will come, we need a
form that scores +20 goals a season... Walcott, what to say!
He
is a great player but with our own
Giroud in great
form and still improving at centre forward and with great options up front
in Alexis, Walcott and Welbeck, as
well as promising young strikers like Akpom, Campbell and Sanogo trying to break through, I don't see a striker as a big transfer priority for the summer, especially if it
is going to use up the lion's share of our budget.
We
're just not scoring goals... the reality
is Walcott
is overrated,
Giroud is very
good but not
in form right now, Sanchez needs a few games to get his mojo back and Welbeck
is still crocked.
No, if say Aguero or Costa or Ibrahimovic and other world class players had a dip
in form or one bad season and fickle ignorant idiots felt free to compare average players like
Giroud and conclude he
is better because he
is their wallpaper idol then I would step
in and correct such shallow conclusions.
Lava wasn't
good enough at Everton... why leave
In -
form Giroud on the bemch that long.
Crucially though,
is the fact that Welbeck also adds the pace that
Giroud lacks and while Wenger will
be hoping that Arsenal dominate, the chances
are that a counter attack against a strong and
in form side on their own ground could
be the
best scoring option.
am tired of wenger.the man has got
good skills, but somehow he fails to address basic issues
in the team like buying a striker and a cdm
in the last summer.at one time, arsenal had
good squad but had a keeper who at times committed mistakes i.e almunia.then after ozil came and arsenal
were first
in december, all wenger had to do
was buy a pacy striker with eye for goal.but wenger did nt so obviously and instead bought an injured kallstrom.agreed ppl fans will keep saying managers shud hav played this guy or that one and so.but
in case of wenger, its abt ignoring team issues t (to prove a point he can win without listening to critics and the fans which he never will), and then playing players out of
form, out of position, and buying players that do nt fit ur style like
giroud!!
For
giroud to score a goal like that he must
be high on confidence hence base
in current
form I will start him against bayern with Sanchez and a fit welbeck running the flanks ragged defensively and offensively, we all know ozil plays
well when carzola
is playing along side coquelin with the back 4 of kostafi and Bellreal and cech to win the game for us with superb saves..
Still, he
's being called «our Matic», so naturally...) Fabregas > Cazorla (even though recent
form, Cazorla has
been alot
better) Willian < Walcott Oscar < Özil Hazard < Sanchez Costa =
Giroud (Costa might
be a
better goalgetter, but
Girouds teamplay
is amazing, as
well as the fact that he has 7 goals
in 8 starting matches this season, if i remember correctly)
Giroud just
is not
good enough and thats the facts here, we would have
been three goals up with a real world class striker, regardless of Ozil and sanchez current
form if we had brought
in a real DM player then we'd have won points at other games and this would
be just a blip, teams do loose games and they do have off days, the real problem lays
in the fact that Wenger has no real top notch choices to mix and match with
is he has slumps with his current squad.
Giroud's absence has
been another factor
in our
good form, but I still think he
's an extremely important squad player, as he can give us a different dimension
in attack if needs
be.
Another thought i'll stick
in there
is that Wenger
is also desperate for
Giroud to look
good in the Euros, so that he will start next season as a player
in form, and the fans won't
be screaming out for a new real striker that actually scores goals?
When people cry out for a striker or a cdm, we have
good players
in the starting line up first of all and people realize that, but the problem
is when
Giroud or Coquelin get injured or loose their
form people start calling them useless (I
'm guilty of it aswell) but Christ we need to remember that they
are Human
Beings who need rest, not Stats on a FiFA game.
The prof will only sign a new forward if it improves the quality of his squad options With Alexis Sanchez on the verge of a comeback and with Olivier
Giroud in good form and looking set to increase his goal stats for the fourth season
in a row since becoming a Gunner, an upgrade will
be very hard to find.
So with Theo continuing to show great
form and giving the boss a very
good option to
Giroud in the middle as
well as on the flanks, this new contract really
is great news.
Add to this the fact that Theo played the full 90 minutes on Saturday while Joel Campbell
was not used and the fact that the Costa Rican has
been in good form, then it does not take a genius to guess which one will start tonight, assuming that Alexis Sanchez and Olivier
Giroud are in the line up that
is.
Last but least Ozïl, the talent
is there and we know it: on any given day at the top of his
form he
is arguably the
best # 10
in the world and just need performances like this and the previous one to show it and remind everyone (what a pass for
Giroud); will do a lot for his confidence and also felt he could've
been more involved
in the team play but that will come with game time (got 90 mins today)... Hopefully that doesn't stop until season's end and keep them passes and goals coming... Dare I say I would've love to see once a front of Alexis, Ozïl, Walcott / Chamberlaine and Cazorla (mouthwatering)!!!
With
Giroud, Alexis, Ozil and Cazorla all
in good form and with the ability to hurt any team, Campbell should have chances to prove that he can
be a Premier League star.
To
be fair to the Arsenal and France international centre forward Olivier
Giroud, his goal scoring
form for club and country since breaking the long drought
in front of goal that
was plaguing him earlier this year has
been very
good.
He said: «
Giroud hasn't
been in good form and that
's why I'd pick Walcott ahead of him against Stoke»
Henry words about Sanchez... I stick to the king words... I criticized Wenger for not signing striker and signing Ozil instead
in a time our
best player
was AMF (Cazorla)... But I have to admit that Ozil
is doing so great right now... Unfortunatel, my critics of not signing quality striker
is still valid because I firmly believe it
's the missing piece upfront (not undermining
Giroud current
form)
Welbeck would
be my ideal right winger but he just came back from a lengthy injury
giroud / walcott uptop depending on who
is on
form elneny and ramsey can rotate
in that b2b position but since we
are playing arguably the
best team
in the world, I chose elneny for his defensive discipline
