glacial river or fresh spring; • Hydrating:
water with low surface tension and thus better hydrating; • Mineral balanced: contains a wide variety of minerals including trace minerals, excellent ionic activity (Total Dissolved Solids ~ 300 ppm), including cations such

If C02 is the largest single contributing factor to the Greenhouse Effect (because supposedly
water vapor is only involved
as a feedback to primary chemistry involving C02 itself), and C02 lags temperature increases (
as has been stated on this very blog), how has the Earth ever returned to colder
glacial conditions following periods of warming?
As there is a vast amount of fresh
water in the
glacial period, in the new ice sheets, the ocean becomes Salter (3 %).

Losses of
glacial ice and permanent snowpack
as well
as thawing permafrost are widespread and complex; they affect key aspects of alpine lakes and streams that include temperature,
water discharge, and nutrient supply.
Vertical land movements such
as resulting from
glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA), tectonics, subsidence and sedimentation influence local sea level measurements but do not alter ocean
water volume; nonetheless, they affect global mean sea level through their alteration of the shape and hence the volume of the ocean basins containing the
water.

Warm ocean
water plays a significant role in melting
glacial ice from below, and a better mapping of Antarctica's and Greenland's landforms beneath the ice suggests that ocean melting of the glacier fronts may play a more significant role than previously thought
