global ecological footprint; plus the music's kinda cool, too):
It challenges a longstanding model of the Arctic

Ted Hinds, BS (Engineering Science), MS (Atmospheric Science), PhD (Physical Ecology, U. Washington, Seattle), Quantitative empirical analyses regarding climatological, meteorological, and

13 September, 2017 — Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew appeal for urgent

In summary, these results demonstrate the potential for synergies and sensitivities of
ecological response to forest loss in disparate regions via ecoclimate teleconnections, which will need to be accounted for as
global forest loss increases and climate dynamics are altered in
response to land use and climate change.
Future coupling of demography with existing
global land model predictions could enable assessment of these potentially important die - off
responses [44], as well as implementation of more realistic reductions in tree loss to drive scenarios (i.e., enabling assessments of
ecological changes less drastic or occurring on shorter time - scales than conversion from forest to grassland biomes).
Our results illustrate the utility of
global scale analyses that can aide in identifying potential ecoclimate teleconnections affected by vegetation change at regional scales, while simultaneously providing insight into the mechanisms of the associated
ecological responses in affected regions.
Voluntary simplicity must call people to a broader vision — a vision that sees the connections between
ecological and social decline; between environmental and social justice, between personal choices and
global issues — that emerges as a prophetic, compassionate
response to today's world.

Objective 1.2 aims to advance use - inspired science (defined as science necessary to improve fundamental understanding in areas important to society) to assess the vulnerabilities to
global change, understand the societal and
ecological characteristics that confer resilience in the face of these changes, and support the adaptation and mitigation
responses to the risks these changes pose.
Most prior PAT items were retained; however, parents recommended changes to improve screening format (separately assessing each sibling within the family and expanding
response options to include «sometimes»), developmental sensitivity (developing or revising items for ages 0 — 2, 3 — 4, 5 — 9, and 10 + years), and content (adding items related to sibling - specific social support,
global assessments of sibling risk, emotional / behavioral reactions to cancer, and social
ecological factors such as family and school).
