According to the report, a total of 33 countries out of 52 in
the Global House Price Index have showed increasing house prices, even when the economies of some countries have slowed down.
The Q2 2017 Quarterly Update includes an update of the IMF's
Global House Price Index and IMF's latest assessments of country specific housing markets.
Appeal was determined by the number of Google searches for property in the country in May 2014 and price growth was measured in both the short term (six months) and long term (12 month) using data from Knight Frank's
Global House Price Index.
International real estate consulting firm Knight Frank is now reporting that
their Global House Price Index has risen for eight consecutive quarters.
According to Knight Frank's latest
Global House Price Index, worldwide home prices recorded their weakest annual performance since the depths of the recession in 2009, recording only 0.9 % growth in the year to March 2012.
