God in the old testament is the only
God of the universe, the creator and wanted their creations to live in His love (that's why we're created) and He's in charge of where the souls of every
human beings would end up when they die.
God already punished mankind for this - he kicked them out of the Garde and imposed death, and then later he
killed off all the
humans by Noah's family.

God later told the Hebrews that

God endows each
human person with dignity, and it is not up to man to remove this dignity by
killing the unborn.
