A comment that stays with me from many years ago, when I first encountered contemplative prayer on a visit to a Carmelite monastery, is a
friend's observation that
none of us can know how much
of what
God is doing in the world is brought about in response to the prayers
of people we don't know and never see.
They not only survived but thrived, graduating top
of their class because they had something
none of their peers had — a day off with no homework, no jobs, no email, just filled with family,
friends and
God.
None of what David has commented on in his recent post affirms the faith you have that Christian belief in
God is akin to belief in an imaginary
