Though the chapter on how
God values women was worthwhile reading, the damage done by every other chapter in the book to the Gospel, to the character of God, and to the witness of the church in this world makes this book not worth reading.

It's important for us not to say, «Look here, the West has Jeffersonian
values about the rights of
women,
values we'd like to see you adopt,» but to argue instead from the Qur «an itself, citing verses like the one stating that
God has ordained love and tenderness between the male and female in marriage, or that no man has two hearts in one bosom.
Churches are usually pretty good about
valuing motherhood, but I think that sometimes the intense focus on that aspect of what Christian womanhood means can lead to us devaluing a lot of other amazing things that
women can (and do) do for
God.

In Christ's teaching enormous stress is laid upon the way in which men and
women treat one another, and the whole concept of a human being is raised in
value because he is declared to be a loved and
valued son of
God.
It means
valuing the dignity of the image of
God in man,
woman and child.
We are called to be light and salt, and one way to do this is to stand up and speak out FOR BIBLICAL
VALUES and against sin... yes, of course we should be preaching / teaching / living

But the
value of the nursing breast as a symbol of
God's provision might need to be reconsidered in our own time, a time in which the technological capacity for, and interest in, objectifying
women's bodies contributes to eating disorders among young
women as well as to rape.
There is a dangerous Christian
value system in place that tells
women that making the first move in a relationship is outside of their
God - given role.
Men and
women were always considered to be made in the image of
God and of equal
value, though they would have different roles.
This is such a huge subject that I must beg indulgence, therefore, if I give my space to but a small fraction of the historic faith — namely its main emphases on

woman for those who have placed the

values and the standards of our world.

Within this hierarchy is built the marital structure of complementarianism, where the man and his wife are
valued as equals before
God, but when it comes to questions of authority, the man is the head and the
woman is his support and follower.
Where in the bible does
God show the
value of
women?
The organization particularly emphasizes the importance of giving back
value to the
women who have worked as prostitutes by demonstrating
God's love for them.
This book follows that bent and expands on the theory of complementarian gender roles - where men and
women are of equal WORTH and
VALUE to
God, but created for specific and complementary roles in relationship.
Yet, this reminder that «
women come nearer to fulfilling their
God - given function in the home than anywhere else» still quickens the hearts of church - going Americans whose understanding of the world was formed by the domestic
values associated with «the family pew» after World War II.1
So besides feeling left out, some
women also realize that the concept of
God as male inevitably supports both the lower status of
women and a society whose dominant
value is power instead of love.
I am a caring, honest, respectful, loyal, intelligent, kind generous, faithful with a sense of humor and a
God - fearing
woman... I was born and brought up with a strict Christian background and I was taught from the young age to always respect myself and other people and I still maintain these
