According to
Goodreads, more than 40,000 readers enter a
giveaway every single
day.
In terms of start date,
Goodreads requires a 7
day notice before launching a
giveaway so keep that in mind as you're planning this out.
Also,
Goodreads giveaways are gamed so badly that a huge percentage of the print books end up on ebay the next
day.
One of the biggest promotional tools, that
Goodreads offers, is the
Goodreads Giveaway whereby you can choose to give away FREE copies of your books to participants who enter the contest for a limited time (say 15 - 30
days).
This
giveaway is open for a number of
days that you specify and at the end,
Goodreads will randomly choose winners for your book and will send you the names and mailing address of the winners of your books.
Goodreads recommends that you run your
giveaway approximately one month prior to publication, but you also want to try and end on a non-popular
day if you can (i.e., look through the list of
giveaways and find a date where you will have less competition and therefore, greater exposure).
There are just two
days left to sign up for our
Goodreads.com
giveaway of fifteen copies of The Seven Gods of Luck to
