In my role as a birth and family educator at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA, I was approached by Dr. John
Gottman, along with two other colleagues (Carolyn Pirak, MSW and Rosalys Peel, RN) to create, implement, and
train couples and
professionals in research - based information about what works and doesn't work in relationships — and pivotal to the Bringing Baby Home
Program — the profound effects the transition to parenthood has on familial relationships.
As a Certified
Gottman Therapist, Trainer and Workshop Leader, I
train and give
professional talks on relationship - related topics for Employee Assistance
programs, church and community groups and to therapists, both in the U.S. and in Europe.
In addition to our core clinical
trainings in
Gottman Method Couples Therapy, we offer a variety of Specialty
Training programs for
professionals.
The
Gottman Institute hosts
Gottman Seven Principles
Program Leader
trainings around the world, often in partnership with other
professional organizations.
