The shoreline fringe and associated acacia woodland provide critical habitat for the endangered
Greater Kudu (Tragelaphus strepsciseros) and other mammals.
The area features sizeable mammal populations, including black rhino, Rothschild's giraffe,
greater kudu, lion, cheetah and wild dogs.
