«The Magnet» is famous for
its hammerhead shark sightings, which features both Scalloped Hammerhead sharks and the Great Hammerhead sharks.
Not exact matches
We also get seasonal
sightings of Humpback Whales, Ragged - tooth and
Hammerhead Sharks, and nesting sea turtles.
Eagle rays and the Cayman Islands» trademark turtles are common
sightings along the East End walls, and it is also the area where divers stand a reasonable chance of seeing passing reef
sharks, and possibly even
hammerheads.
Consequently the seasonable
sighting of schooling
hammerhead sharks as well as schooling mobula rays is regular.
Dive profiles usually involve a quick descent to the base followed by a spiraling circumnavigation that may result with a
sighting of the
hammerhead sharks that sometimes frequent this formation.
Hammerhead shark, Caribbean reef
shark and even the oceanic white tip
shark are seen occasionally, but these lucky
sightings are rare.
Obviously the draw card here is the schooling
Hammerhead sharks, but please understand that the
sightings are few and far between.
White tip reef
sharks are also commonly
sighted here and if you are lucky you may see some Galapagos
sharks and
hammerheads, 2
sights with which you will become increasingly familiar with on your Ecuador diving cruise.
One of the most awe - inspiring
sights has to be diving with the
hammerhead shark.
The
sharks commonly
sighted in this area are gray reef
sharks, Galapagos
sharks, sandbar
sharks and
hammerhead sharks, ranging in size from 5 to 15 feet (1.5 to 4.5 meters).
September and October are the best times for
sighting hammerhead sharks in the Sea of Cortez.
Obviously the draw card here is the schooling
hammerhead and silky
sharks, but please understand that the
sightings are not guaranteed.
Whale
sharks,
hammerheads, Galapagos
sharks and dolphins are common
sightings, as are seals, sea lions, penguins and marine iguanas in the shallows.
