KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • Implemented a complex data
indexing system, which reduced information retrieval time by 62 % • Secured patient data by a 100 % by introducing «Patient Lock» a system that ensures complete data lockdown until an authorized person accesses it • Increased the efficiency of the insurance reimbursement system by creating and maintaining effective relationships with insurance companies on the facility's panel • Taught 15 new
health information technician trainees in healthcare reimbursement methods and classification and coding systems as part of their
training program
This could best be achieved through national programmes to further develop community controlled primary healthcare services at a funding level, which is
indexed proportionately to the higher level of need, and through national
training programmes to produce indigenous
health professionals to deliver these services as well as to
train culturally competent non-indigenous practitioners.
Having determined that it is feasible to construct such an
index, the second stage of the work by the ABS will examine the feasibility of sub-dividing the
index according to broad functional lines to produce a habitat
index (reflecting disadvantage relating to
health, housing and infrastructure) and an economic
index (reflecting disadvantage relating to education,
training and employment), as well as sub-dividing the
index along geographical lines to produce an urban and rural / remote
index.
Program results to be shared will be based on
training data, referral data, enrollment rates,
health records, parent child interaction measured by the PICCOLO, child development measured by the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, family development measured by the life skills progression and parental depression measured by the PHQ - 9 and Parental Stress
Index.
