visits to more than 20 facilities in Orange County including nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals,

In the Pet
Visit Program, extraordinary dogs give love to all sorts of people in all sorts of places — the elderly in nursing homes, families grieving in
hospice, children frightened in the hospital, and military veterans recovering from injury.
Through our Pets Are Loving Support (PALS)
program, we are able to help facilitate the human - animal bond with the help of volunteers and their well - behaved pets who
visit hospice patients and senior living facilities.
These vital
programs are looking for trained dogs and their human companions to volunteer to go to various locations on the island to help elementary school students, and
visit with
hospice patients, seniors and others.

programs has been expanding to address special populations and to include additional goals such as follow - up from hospital discharge, medical
visits to children who have special health care needs (eg, asthma care),
hospice and palliative care, and environmental evaluations (eg, home lead evaluations).
