hotel booking sites?»

It's a little easier if you know exactly where you want to stay as many online
booking sites like Agoda allow you to set a price alert on specific
hotels and they will notify you if the price drops.
When we first look for accomodations, we will search a
booking site,
like Agoda or
Hotels Combined.
Still, we felt
like it would be useful to also go over the major
booking sites and see what users there had to say about the
hotel.

Bottomline: The Howard Johnson by Wyndham is an example of why people don't
like budget
hotels in the US: It doesn't deliver on the promises made on the
booking web
site, the
hotel and rooms are old and in bad condition, barely resembling the photos on the web and poor management makes it worse.
Keep in mind:
Booking hotels with
sites like these won't earn you
hotel points or count towards the number of nights needed for an elite tier of a loyalty program.
Also
sites like PointsHound and Rocketmiles might be a good option because they allow you to earn frequent flyer miles on
hotel bookings.
But how does that compare to
hotel portals
like agoda.com or hotels.com, or the favorite tool of miles & points fan,
booking through the
hotel web
site with their «best - rate - guarantee»?
There are other programs and portals
like Fine
Hotels and Resorts program for American Express Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders which throw in a bunch of added perks and benefits, so that even though you most likely won't earn
hotel points or elite status stay credits (since most loyalty programs make you
book directly through their
site or corporate travel portals to get points), you can still get lot of extra value and perks out of your
booking.
