If I had to choose between paying 200k for a 6k return (and no time invested to maintain it) or to
work 5
hours a
week on a
blog that could make 10k (or even the same amount of 6k) per year, I would choose the latter.
Unfortunately, when trying to fit in a full - time job, a
work out 4 - 5 times per
week, driving 3
hours every other weekend to see my boyfriend, running a
blog (among the 50 million other things I have to do), I just can't afford to putz.
Edit: I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave the linky open for a few more days — I'm expecting some technical
work to be done on the
blog in the next
week so it might go offline for a few
hours.
Quite unfortunately, I'm going to have veryyyy little time over the next 3.5 - ish months to
blog because I'll be on all inpatient rotations and
working 6 - 7 days /
week with 12 - 14 +
hour shifts at a time.
I go to college full time,
work 20
hours a
week, and
blog in between, so one of my biggest priorities when scouting for new stylish items is to shop smart.
I have cut down drastically on substitute teaching over the last year to focus more on the
blog and still
work roughly 30
hours a
week teaching guitar and tutoring english, math and French.
I basically
work 7 days a
week, if you count all the
hours I put for my
blog.
As I mentioned a couple
weeks ago I had friends in town and couldn't
work as much, after they left I basically
worked on the house to try and get everything back to normalcy and had a ton of
hours to make up at Sephora... so now I finally have a couple days to put my
blog life in order and I'm thrilled to be able to do that!!!
As much as I love event planning, this one is always more stress than I anticipate each year — and more
work than I can accomplish in a normal 40 -
hour week, thus the radio silence here on the
blog.

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all of the people who
work on my
blog (it really takes a village to keep me from imploding my
blog and shutting down the internet), but today I'd like to especially thank Debbie who has sat on the other side of Skype for
HOURS on end trying to keep up with my rapid fire ideas for these pages the past couple of
weeks.
Since I've been blogging in earnest I've met many creative and generous
blog friends and I've felt as though I finally have a way of being creative while
working a 40
hour week as an executive assistant.
