Founded in 1946 by a group of
artists including Roland Penrose, Peter Watson, and Herbert Read, the
ICA continues to support living
artists in showing and exploring their work, often as it emerges and before others.

The screening not only reflects on last year's
ICA presentation of West's outdoor sculptures, but Lucas» special connection with the
artist who became a friend soon after his 2003 Whitechapel exhibition.
This work significantly augments the
ICA / Boston's painting collection while also building on strategies of
artists such as Sherrie Levine and Cady Noland that introduce notions of the painterly, the decorative, and the use of digital circulation of images into their work.
The program will begin on Thursday, December 7 with the Premiere
Artist Talk with Charles Gaines (b. 1944) who will have a site - specific commission at the Institute of Contemporary Art (
ICA) Miami and discuss his work with Bryan Stevenson.
During school vacation weeks in February, April, and December, the
ICA hosts special activities and projects Tuesday to Friday, including art - making, films, performances and activities with visiting
artists.
