AT&T has announced official availability of an update to Android 4.0 for its HTC Vivid today, the first such
ICS update available on any phone sold in the US.
The Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 users are really lucky as there are many
ICS updates available for their handsets.

That will soon change in the future because based on a Facebook wall post to ASUS fan page revealed that an ASUS customer service mentioned that the
ICS update will be
available soon.
So with the Android
ICS update in the process of rolling out for the Sony Xperia go, U and sola, it's only a matter of time before it becomes
available in most regions.
If none creep up, the
ICS update will soon be made
available to all XOOM users worldwide.
Sony had earlier announced the Android
ICS update to be made
available to both the Tablet P and Tablet S back in April, though for reasons best known to them, only the Tablet S received the
ICS update while Tablet P continued with Android Honeycomb for another month.
Meanwhile, with no specific dates made
available for the
update to be released, we have no idea how long we have to wait for Android
ICS to make its way onto Thrive tablets.
There is however news that Samsung is reconsidering their stand and there is indeed the possibility of Android 4.0
ICS update being made
available for the Galaxy Tab users.
The
update right now is
available only to XOOM tablet users in the US, making it just the second device so far to be upgraded to Android
ICS.

However, it will be pre-loaded with Honeycomb although an

The option to limit background data usage, which was confusingly absent from
ICS - based Galaxy S3 firmware, is now
available in the Jelly Bean

In terms of internals, while Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS is no longer at the fore of software potential, with no Android 4.0
ICS update to be made
available, LG's decision to skin the L3 with its own Optimus 2.0 Lite user interface could be seen as a mistake.
