moving a stay over to
IHG or making a special effort to book a stay at an
IHG property.

points needed for awards so only buy
points that you know you'll be using in the near future.

Joanna isn't booked to stay at any
IHG properties during the promotion period and, as the 4 nights required to complete the promotion will cost in the region of # 200 — # 250 ($ 290 — $ 360)-- which is roughly the cost of the room the bonus
points would purchase — it doesn't look as if it would be worthwhile to
move any stays over to
IHG.
Although
IHG Rewards Club has wisely decided to have the same number of properties
moving up and down, you can bet that those hotels where people actually wan to redeem are steadily
moving higher in
point requirements.
IHG have now advised that they are
moving to the same spend based earnings as the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn chains — 10
points per USD charged to the room.
