The Global Digital Sea
Ice Data Bank (GDSIDB) at NSIDC and at the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI), St. Petersburg, Russia, was established to archive digital operational ice charts from ice services around the world.
He was a member of the GCOS / WCRP Terrestrial Observations Panel for Climate (TOPC) and co-chair of the Global Digital Sea
Ice Data Bank of WMO.
