if I'd had any
dried cherries to hand I might well have used those instead.
You can also substitute
dried cranberries for the tart
cherries if you can't find them, and use a variety of nuts like cashews, almonds, or walnuts instead of pecans.
Also feel free to swap in
cherry flavored craisins
if you get to the store and realize you don't feel like paying more for
dried cherries; you'd be in good company.
