publish multiple ways to some extent or another — tend to be the ones making the most money.
If you are ready to go down to the
hybrid publishing maze, do your homework.
In some cases, the traditionally -
published book may earn out more, but over time, I think
if you are an established
hybrid writer, you're going to start to get better long - term earnings with your self -
published endeavors.

Facing the harsh reality of a market flooded with books and talented authors, I wonder
if I haven't stumbled upon one of the reasons so few self -
published authors go on to
publish subsequent books and also the reason that so few authors — whether indie, traditional, or
hybrid — are highly satisfied with their
publishing experience.
Doubtful... i do nt think Ninja Theory is going to look back anytime soon,
if their
hybrid self
publishing experiment succeeds with Hellblade.
If for whatever reason (journal reputation foremost of all) you choose to
publish in a subscription journal with a
hybrid model, don't pay the APC.
For me it's what I've argued pretty vehemently for some time:
If you're going to pay an APC, then
publish in a «pure» OA journal, not in a
hybrid journal.
