And the moment we renounce the absurd notion that a thing is exploded away as soon as it is classed with others, or its origin is shown; the moment we agree to stand by experimental results and inner quality, in judging of values — who does not see that we are likely to ascertain the distinctive significance of religious melancholy and happiness, or of religious trances, far better by comparing them as conscientiously as we can with other varieties of melancholy, happiness, and trance, than by refusing to consider their place in any more general series, and treating them as if they were outside of nature's order altogether?

What a failire he's become. He was bought as the man supposed to lead the line and send us to glory and now he becomes a so called super sub.I don't get it.France's leading striker is a super sub at Arsenal.Since he came here he's part of the reason why we've not been able to win the league. He's also part of the reason why Wenger remains hesitant in signing a world class striker since for some reason he still believes in him. He's really affected Arsenal a lot which I don't kbow if many have realized. At times playing with him is like playing with no striker at all. This inconsistencies won't help us at all going forward We have absolutely zero quality in striking department.

We finally have a solid striker (even if he will take some adaptation time I think he'll be true class) in Lacazette, we have solid center backs (once they are all healthy) much better than in recent seasons, Giroud is our killer weapon off the bench rather than the key we are relying on as the main source of goals, Coquelin and Elneny are now midfield fall - back options rather than Flamini (no offense Mathieu, I appreciated your efforts, just making the obvious comparison), two high quality keepers, etc..
Quality if OG!!!!!! are you joking what Quality!!? World class is what we need.
Big in your list I can agree that all these players would improve us, but let's look at our CB At the moment Kos, top player but is struggling with a inj which may or may not heal, at the moment he isn't match fit so not up to his own high standard, so needs help or a defender of his quality so he can go and recover properly So then we have Mert, too slow and no longer good enough, I'm not sure if he's even good enough for 3 rd choice CB, too slow, poor on the air for his size and not brave enough, he's lasted this long due to Kos he needs a Top class CB just to allow him to play against average teams Ok now Reid not top class we can all agree so we couldn't really play him with MERT as he isn't Kos quality so can't cover merits deficiencys He could be ok with Kos but Kos is struggling So is Reid what we need???? And finally Wenger if he has all 3 fit will still play Kos / Mert first choice Oh and God forbid we play MERT / Reid against the top teams like Chels / city / utd / Southampton Chuckle chuckle

@RSH what I was trying to say is that it takes more than world class players to win you the league. In many instances the mentality factor far outweighs the quality when the team is playing on the Wenger. With Wenger I don't see us having a strong mentality. We might have even lost the battle before it is fought.Trust me there's a higher chance w» ell not win the EPL if even Wenger made all the right signings. You know why? It's not because of the so called quality of other teams but we will be the cause of our own downfall this season again.
Fans fail to see that we are blessed to have a DM like coquelin, I mean look at how solid our team has become when he plays. His defensive qualities are what please me the most.Coquelin reads the game really well and knows exactly where an opponent is going to drop the next pass that is why you see him making so many interceptions because he reads the game well and he is not afraid to challenge for the ball.He is also very desciplined withe ball and passes the ball quick enough to start a counter attack. So for me, I couldn't ask for another DM than Coquelin please let's learn to appreciate what we have.Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Kondogbia etc are highly rated because they play for other clubs if they were playing for Arsenal we would have branded them «average players», we would be crying for Wenger to sign «world class DMs».
Real Madrid only ever sell a quality player if they have a player of even more supreme quality... i.e. Rodriguez came in and Di Maria was let go... Simple answer is there are not that many world - class CBs available in the market so Madrid do nt have a replacement and therefore wont sell a CB who can still be world - class for 4 - 5 more seasons..
I would prefer mahrez anyway as he is tried and tested he can score goals in the EPL and we we will still have the space for a quality world class striker if one becomes available in the next two windows.
If we Really want to Challenge for EPL this season then we should we ruthless with signing quality players, there are alot we can still convince to come even without Champions League, For the 1st time i will see Wenger and Arsenal trying to spend over the odds, like # 100 millon for a top Player, Even if we can't get him which my instinct tells me we won't then we should be aggressive with others and be fast Here are the followings that would make us challenge for EPL next Season 1) A World Class Striker, Realistic: AUBAMEYANIf we Really want to Challenge for EPL this season then we should we ruthless with signing quality players, there are alot we can still convince to come even without Champions League, For the 1st time i will see Wenger and Arsenal trying to spend over the odds, like # 100 millon for a top Player, Even if we can't get him which my instinct tells me we won't then we should be aggressive with others and be fast Here are the followings that would make us challenge for EPL next Season 1) A World Class Striker, Realistic: AUBAMEYANif we can't get him which my instinct tells me we won't then we should be aggressive with others and be fast Here are the followings that would make us challenge for EPL next Season 1) A World Class Striker, Realistic: AUBAMEYANG.
Should this even be a topic?Giroud is a player of average quality always surrounded by good players.I just don't get. It's as if only Arsenal fans rate him. This was a player who was bought to be the leading striker at Arsenal and after his years of failure which many deny he's now become a super sub?How laughable is that. From failure to super sub.If the so called world class striker we're signing goes out with an injury for about five months who comes in then.It seems to me people lack vision. Why is it always Giroud Giroud Giroud? After so many seasons people are still debating what souldn't even be debatable.I've lost count of the number of times he's been talked about here. This is the problem with our club. It's just not ruthless. This is a player who should have been gone long ago but due to him being French he still gets the chances. We won't miss him when he goes and I'd like to see if he'd stand out in a smaller club.
I'm with you there mate. He's just an average player beign given many chances.A lot of average strikers can even do better because of the chances Arsenal creates. There are some strikers who are not top quality but have very good finishing that if given the same seasons and chances Giroud has had they can do better.I hate it when they make it seem like only world class strikers are better than him. He's really only improved from season 14/15 honestly speaking. He used to be so bad and waste a lot of chances. It's just that become can not see the fact that he's not as good as they think. We will surely be vindicated by his performance for another club.
It's obvious for me that arsenal need 4 players to become a world class team like bayern and real madrid i couldn't dare mention barcelona because they have unbelievable front three and they maybe the best attack in history of football we are lacking quality in the ST as well as the RW of course giroud and campvell are very good players but in my opinion they are less in quality than the rest of the team so we need to improve the quality in these positins About the DM it's a number issue and i think the position is covered with flamini doing good job and elneny coming which can be deployed there About the fourth signing we need is a center back I don't think i saw till now enough minutes for gabriel to tell if he can make the position his own or not But what makes me doubt him that wenger didn't choose him till now over per which means he is not miles ahead of him so i think we need a new better CB This team can go and fight for every thing even the champions leafue....
Hahaha that's very true.At times you get the feeling that even we don't know what we want. However, the strikers Arsenal should be targetting are: Lukaku, Aubameyang, Belotti and Chiharito if everything fails. All these players would improve us massively in terms of goalscoring and to me they are all worth their prices.I also feel Arsene Wenger doesn't know what he wants that's why he ends up panic buying as usual.I wouldn't be angry at all if he signs only one player and that is a world class striker. We have quality in the other positions but the players just lack form.As for the CF role we have no quality.Wenger should wake up for once. This is his chanceto pounce for Aubameyang.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
total failure... Can you believe Wenger spent 32 millions on 2 average players (Chambers and Welbeck) and is penny pinching when is sbout real class players? What is in his mind?Pay a fortune in salary for mediocre players live Walcott, Ramsey and Wilshere and have hesitations about increasing Sanchez wages... keeping on books failures like Sanogo... The truth is - I say it for years and years - until the «British core» disapears, we are not going to be succesful. The low quality of British players is dragging the team back.Last time Arsenal was a powerhouse NONE of the first 11 was British.Wanna see how the British quality looks like in a football team - look no further than national sides of England, Scotland, N Ireland, Wales, even Ireland (not British but same style)- all mediocre teams «able» to be defeated by any team coming to mind. And you are asking about Chambers? He is in the same mold like Wilshere,Walcott,Ox,Ramsey,Gibs,Jenkinson - mediocre overpriced and overpaid players. The world is full with hungry, ambitious and skilled players living in poverty and dreaming of moving to the top at any cost or sacrifice (did you see the poor house - if you can call that house, looking more like an old tent - in which Alexis Sanchez grew up?Or Suarez?)
I am pissed today hearing about Olivier Giroud three year contract and salary he is earning. That is unfair because Giroud does not deserve it.He has not worked to show that he deserves it.We should look at the quality snd output of our players before paying them.Well its too late now so we should look forward. We do nt need stats to even tell us that Girouf is usually average for arsenal than good at most times.I would have sold him if i was Wenger because he does not deserve to be leading the line still after 3 years and i doubt he will like to warm the bench. He is very lucky to have Wenger as a coach of arsenal london fc.Arsenal has not moved forward because we think getting rid of players is a bad thing. We always hesitate when it comes to selling players we do nt need.Arsenal need a world class cf not a world class cf.Its is time to move forward by addressing our mistakes.Since Van persie left we have needed a cf and ifBenzema is available we need to get rid of who we do nt need so that we move forward.Arsenal do not need Giroud though many may be against my speech.Once the premier league starts and Giroud is our main cf it shows that Wenger has not learnt from his mistakes.Just as we got Cech who to me was a need he needs to just find as a reliable and clinical cf.
But real world class players would usually outclass the lower quality players, even if they do not play with their 100 % effort.
Bendtner or Chamakh would still have been considered average even if they scored 25goals because they had average talent. For all the potential Bendtner had he never maximised it so as long asit wasn't developed he's still average.I mean it's possoble for an average player to score 25 goals when given the chances and possible for a world class striker to score less than that.Quality is a talent which may be linked to stats but does not necessarily show on stats.Take Ox for example, if you looked at his stats you might think he's average but he's not.Look at Lukaku, he's scored many goals for Everton yetmany people here think he's not gpod enough for Arsenal because they look at the quality and talent andnot just the goals.
If we had a world class striker and another top quality winger, Ozil could have easily got somewhere near 30 assists!
This season they will add 2 or 3 more world class players and will be very tough to catch them if we do nt add a quality striker, keeper and a midfielder.
In the envisaged revamping of the Arsenal first team squad during the in - coming summer transfer window for next season's campaign during which at least 2 world class players are expected to be signed by Arsenal in addition to keeping Ozil and Sanchez, and some underperforming Gunners for 3 consecutive seasons allowed to leave on the expiration of their contract deals this season or be sold if their deals are still active to recoup some funds used in signing the 2 world class players in addition to the signing of 3 other top quality new players making them 5 in numbers of: a LB, a DM, an AMD, a versatile world class Winger & a world class Striker whom Arsenal should sign during the summer imho.
If he keeps on putting in quality performances, I think we may have a world - class DM in Coquelin in the not so distant future!
neither are world class but Would only take someone of top quality if available milan had a good youngster a season ago but haven't followed
He's a world class footballer and a fan favorite I don't care if he cost # 13m or # 130m he is quality and delivers for us.
And even World Class Quality Player like Messi, C.Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, etc, can NEVER EVER help the team IF they are not given a chance to play.
Let's be honest here if Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich come calling every player would want to join them, the best way to try and convince Alexis to stay would be to add 3 or 4 players of the same world class quality that he brings
If Wenger actually grew some balls like other top managers he'd say bye bye to Arteta and sign a quality DM and would buy a world class CB and bench Mertersacker, as it is, he won't.
But in Sanchez, there's only two or three other players that we can claim to be World class, if Sanchez isn't don't have enough good players around him, he won't be anyway near Henry, but if the players we have improve or we get in more quality players in every position, then with Sanchez staying and wining at least the EPL, then he can start getting compared to Henry
GOONSTER Yes your right we did have some great players in the past and why not now??? If you think we could win the legue with this squad with NO striker then your deluded I'm hoping that AW will buy quality striker and more otherwise our hopes of wining the legue is almost impossible and as for CL no chance but all it takes is to buy couple of more right players we have more than enough funds in the bank so why why why not????? Is it because if Arsen buys quality players then there is no exuse for not wining trophies, I still belive in Wanger but I think his scared of controlling world class players so he goes for neede players or with injury historIf you think we could win the legue with this squad with NO striker then your deluded I'm hoping that AW will buy quality striker and more otherwise our hopes of wining the legue is almost impossible and as for CL no chance but all it takes is to buy couple of more right players we have more than enough funds in the bank so why why why not????? We do nt need a squad full of World Class players but seeing 1 or 2 more player close to / of that quality coming in that can be game changers will show intent to continue a winning trend specially if we win EPL this year.
