I am a Certified
Baby Massage Instructor and I am offering a
Baby Massage Class in Fairfax, CA, beginning, Monday, Jan. 12, 2009.
We are PT's and have a holistic health center
in Saint Louis, Missouri where among other things I get to teach weekly
baby massage and positive parenting
classes (as close to my bliss as I have found.)
Our uniquely integrated
class for mum and little one where
baby massage,
baby yoga and sensory play are delivered alongside rhythm, rhyme and story
in a seamless journey of imaginative play.
The «bridge» is just one of the yoga positions that instructor Allison Svoboda has adapted to moms and
babies in her Yogamotion
class, which she began offering
in October at Sheil Park, 3505 N. Southport Ave.. Her one - hour
class, combining gentle yoga postures and infant
massage, is a hit with mothers looking for healing postpartum exercise and a chance to bond with
baby and other new mothers.
She has never been to a
baby class,
baby group,
baby massage session, anything with «
baby»
in the title.

I hear sooo often from moms
in my
massage classes that they gave up wearing their
baby early on because they had trouble figuring out how to make the sling «work» for them.
I'm bringing
in some other amazing professionals for yoga, play / music
classes for
babies and toddlers, counseling, and more relevant services that are still
in the works (like breastfeeding, belly binding,
massage, and reiki).
So many
babies in my weekly infant
massage classes do NOT like tummy time.
I taught
baby massage, like I do every Friday, but today, as I loaded up my things
in my car, I realized I was leaving
class feeling — what's the word?
You can do this by encouraging her to have skin to skin contact with the
baby in a quiet environment, try
baby massage (or even take her to a
baby massage class where she will interact with other moms and their
babies), maintain eye contact, play, talk, touch, and breastfeed the
baby.
Each
class offers every parent a chance to check
in with the ups and downs of the previous week, to learn about the phases of infant development (fine & gross motor skills, language, attachment, and others), to examine practical
baby - care skills, and even to practice infant
massage.
In order for the
class to learn effectively, we do not allow children to attend workshops unless they include infant participation (i.e.
Baby Massage or Small Talk).

in baby massage and the opportunity to pick up a few other moves
in a kick - ass mommy yoga
class.
