I didn't have a Pro
controller yet, but had the money right there set aside for one, just so my bro and me can play MK8D online without having to share the two
Joycon (it works ok, but it's not the most comfortable solution at home).
The larger SKU will either be the same with a Switch that comes with more storage, or a SKU that include the Pro
controller,
Joycon base
controller, and a dock.
Do keep in mind though that each player will require their own
controller, whether that be a
Joycon or the excellent Pro
controller.
Here I thought I was going to prefer using the
joycons docked in the
controller, but I actually think I enjoy the motion - controls more.
You can always dock the
joycons or use a pro
controller if you wish, but Nintendo really went all out in ensuring every control option feels so responsive.

The pro

joycon setup is OK at best, the cursor being controlled with the stick and the buttons being used to drag pieces, but it's very slow and cumbersome to the point it's not worth the effort.
