Kazooie came out very close to the same time as Mario 64, and both of them had snow levels that coincidentally featured giant snowmen in them.
I guess Sol was excluded from this Podcast because he wasn't born when the first Banjo

Kazooie games were absolutely amazing... if Banjo -
Kazooie games ever
came back with the original Rare team that would make my 2014 year.
Shame I can't afford an Xbox One as well, since Rare Replay is basically a dream
come true (in particular, I love the Banjo -
Kazooie games, and Conker's Bad Fur Day is the one Rare classic I've never played, and it's so expensive to buy the N64 original).
This awesome collection
comes containing 30 classic Rare titles, including one of my favorites, Banjo
Kazooie!.
One of my more recent favorites is how Link will sometimes swing his sword triumphantly before putting it away in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but I also love Mario's sleepy mumblings in Super Mario 64, Dixie Kong sipping from a juice box in Donkey Kong Country 3 as an idle animation, and how Banjo - Tooie allows players to revisit some areas of Banjo -
Kazooie that were destroyed or otherwise impacted in the previous adventure (Spiral Mountain and the entry of Gruntilda's realm
come to mind).
Banjo -
Kazooie style 3D platformers will
come back in full force.
Indeed, such highly regarded games as GoldenEye 007 and Banjo
Kazooie were
coming straight from the guys at Twycross, UK.
In fact, Microsoft has stated that they would be willing to let Nintendo use Banjo and
Kazooie in Smash Bros. before, but it never

coming to the Wii U, so that has an appeal, but I got the first one for the Xbox 360 thanks to the extra characters of Banjo &
Kazooie (no one else had any guests), the ability to use your Avatar (or Mii on the Wii, and no unlocking yourself here as in Mario Kart), downloadable content (Metal Sonic and a Death Egg track), plus Achievements.

Created in homage to 3D platformers of the past - such as Banjo
Kazooie - Yooka - Laylee was a particular fave when it
came out on PS4 and Xbox One earlier this year.
First appearing the classic Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong really
came into his own in the Nintendo 64 racer Diddy Kong Racing, which featured characters who went on to star in the Banjo -
Kazooie franchise and the Conker series.
Yooka - Laylee, the spiritual successor to Banjo -
Kazooie,
came out earlier in the year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
