control my cars, handling of the vehicles and responsiveness of the game in general just
felt very right.
You get to grips with it quickly, and in some ways it
feels easier than the mouse and
keyboard (such as the radial menu for leader powers and building,
controlled by the right stick).
Skyrim was never great when it comes to combat but I

controls for
keyboard / mouse or controller
feel quite awkward at times.
Back when I started gaming, all of the
controls were bunched up on the
keyboard, and I can tell you from experience that they stopped doing that for a reason; this is not the retro
feel you want your game to have.
The
keyboard controls didn't
feel very responsive either.
And though there's no beating a
keyboard and mouse for precision and
control, the experience
felt damn close.
Your ship
feels like it has some weight, but I never found myself frustrated with trying to
control it, as I often do when playing flight games with a
keyboard and mouse.
As such, everyone has to be in the same room with four controllers plugged into your PC (
keyboard controls are available, but
feel far less intuitive and responsive than the controller).
The default turn speed and acceleration took some getting use to, and I could definitely
feel that it had its roots in mouse and
keyboard controls.
The game's
controls and combo system, despite being awkwardly mapped to
keyboard controls,
feel very solid.
The game's intuitive console
controls make it easy to command full armies with a few button taps, while its PC version allows genre veterans to finally
feel at home with a mouse and
keyboard.
The game
controls feels clumsy especially if you are not used to the
keyboard for movement.
While
keyboard controls are supported, they currently don't
feel properly optimized or well suited to the game's three - dimensional block manipulation and character movement.
The
keyboard and mouse
controls feel surprisingly great — actually more precise than the gamepad
controls the game was designed for.
Updating the mouse and
keyboard controls for a more modern
feel, you still get the sense of what made those games so popular.
As I made progress and got solidly into the game the game
felt more and more like a standard PC shooter with outstanding
keyboard & mouse
controls.
Bungie nailed the twin - stick
controls, which remain a standard in the genre to this very day, and although hardcore PC gamers will be forever wedded to their mouse and
keyboard combo, Halo
felt simply great to play with a gamepad.
My only gripe was that
controlling the commander with the
keyboard didn't
feel as smooth as it does with the controller.
The
keyboard, remote
control and mouse also match the system colors perfectly and offer a good high quality
feel to them.
Instructing your bot to increase the temperature of the air conditioner by 1 degree is a faster and easier way to
control than using the
keyboard and saying, it
feels so hot here, please do something about it.
The AlienFX Editor used to
control the
keyboard backlighting seems to run more smoothly than previous incarnations but it still suffers from unprofessional look - and -
feel.
Keyboard controls are viable, and just as customizable, but I preferred the gamepad for its old - school
feel.
Since the game was designed with a controller in mind (as were many other action / adventure titles), having commands sprawled out across a
keyboard with only the most basic
controls in our mouse made the game
feel extremely unwieldy.
If you're like me though,
control games with your
keyboard and mouse don't
feel very natural — I prefer a good controller.
In particular, racing games like Dirt 2 — recently acquired as part of the awesome Feral bundle — just don't
feel right to me
controlling them with a
keyboard.
