After the morning tech workshops, the
kids and their parents will
come together for
lunch and ice cream, and listen to some words of wisdom from Zillow Group CEO Spencer Rascoff and Code.org founder Hadi Partovi.
In a few more years I'm hoping I can get them to start helping to make their own
lunches, and when that time
comes I'm thinking I'll reprint all the
lunch choices in a bigger font and tell the
kids they can pick whatever they want as long as they get one item from each group.

kids, and figuring out which route to take for our 20 - 25 minute journey to school, and then driving back home I usually

So what does a school do when a hungry
kid comes through the
lunch line with no meal card?
When recess
comes after
lunch,
kids are often antsy and chatty rather than focused on eating.
And even though parents packing school
lunches often need to include a drink, many
kids» lunchboxes don't
come with a water bottle for
kids» drinks.
It could be the time that you
come in from the beach for
lunch and a break before dad heads back down with the older
kids.
But when it
comes to packing our
kids school
lunches, there's more to it than just what
kids like.
St Paul has also been able to change its school food bidding process to favor regionally and locally sourced produce, resulting in about 40 % of its produce now
coming from local farms, and it created educational materials for the
lunch room to introduce
kids to the local farmers growing their food.

lunch were reduced and more important, when the time for learning resumed — when you do want the
kids to be focused and paying attention — the
kids were calmer and not quite so revved up right after
lunch as they were
coming in straight from recess.

lunch payment from the government is not, in many cases, enough to cover the costs of putting that meal on the table, and more revenue has to
come from somewhere.

A child that knows that after breakfast they are going to get dressed, and after they get dressed they are going to have their big daily activity, then after that they will have
lunch and a nap will spend less timing worrying about what is
coming up next, be more cooperative to doing what you need them to do and be able to focus their energy on exploring their world and being a
kid.

On 4th of July, we had to get our day started right, so we went to gym, after that we took our munchkins bowling,
