Sometimes it means other characters get bumped out of games that could have otherwise been a suitable choice (
Koopalings for Bowser Jr. or Pauline for Peach), but I don't think that's what happened with DK in the Mario Party games.
More attention is warranted by the final boss castles for each zone, which offer some crushing challenges for Mario, who must reach the top in order to launch himself onto the airship of
each Koopaling for a final confrontation.

Also it'd be cool if a
koopaling were in this, but then you'd have to only pick one or two from 7 which would be hard (I guess Larry or Lemmy would work
for being the leader and the most likely to party respectively)
Maybe, you had to get 8 paintbrushes from the
Koopalings, and with the 8 paintbrushes paint your way up to the final battle with bowser
for the ultimate paintbrush that makes all wishes come true.
And the same goes
for Color Splash, I mean yeah sure they've got the
Koopalings, but Sticker Star had Bowser Jr, and he only appeared in the first level,
for a out of nowhere boss fight in the boat, and the last level of the game!
Rosalina with the puppet Luma and galaxy inspired moveset and while Bowser Jr.'s moveset was kind of made up, I imagine it's the
Koopaling alts that helped secure his spot in the roster (more important characters
for free, hooray!).
Even something that used to be a treat, like seeing the
Koopalings, is now just another thing on the checklist
for the series.
I hope Mario Party expands and grows,
for MP11 I think they'll not only add boss battles, but also add
Koopaling battles to Mario Party 11, as well as story mode.
Also, Bowser's children (the
Koopalings) were based on personalities of 7 of his programmers, and this was basically a tribute
for all the hard work they have given in order to complete the game.
For example, the
Koopalings now actually have personalities, and help each other in battle with all kinds of neat tricks and traps.
So it was nice to be able to redo the stealth sections, the
Koopaling «mini battles», the Boo avoiding challenges, etc, complete with an extra «hard mode»
for even better rewards.
When she awakens from a nightmare, she learns from Toad that the
Koopalings are holding Mario
for ransom and becomes determined to break him out, despite Toad's warning that she might spoil Luigi's plan (infiltrating the tower disguised as her).
For example, the boss battle before the final boss is literally a seven or so stage fight with no save point between, the first three or four parts of which are just fighting random hordes of enemies (and the last three difficult fights against the
Koopalings).
When news of the kidnapping was revealed to Mario & Luigi, the two give chase to hold each
Koopaling (and Bowser) accountable
for the capture and rescue Peach at the end.
Meanwhile, it turns out that the bizarre Rabbids humour is the perfect fit
for the Mario universe, measuring up to Bowser's cheeky
Koopalings.
The title theme's another standout, setting the stage
for the rest of the experience, and I always get pumped up when I hear the
Koopaling battle theme kick in.
His attack pattern is fairly complex
for a
Koopaling boss.
If one game was screaming out
for the
Koopalings, Kamek and maybe Bowser Jr to be in it, this is it.
A brand new gameplay trailer revealed that
for the first time in the series, all seven of the
Koopalings, who originated in NES classic Super Mario Bros. 3, will feature as playable characters.
Saying that, the
Koopalings more than made up
for that.

The Treehouse footage showed off a battle against a
Koopaling (who are featured in the series
for the first time), which showed boss battles will be similar to Sticker Star - use the right item at the right time, and you'll be waltzing to the prize.
In Leaping Lizards, Iggy has possession of the Doom Ship and first appears with it after Morton signals him
for backup after being confronted by Luigi, though upon sighting the plumber, the cowardly
Koopaling abandons his brother out of fright.
Upon defeating the
Koopaling at the castle at the end of each world, Mario and company walk outside to see Bowser Jr. boarding the airship and taking off, with Peach crying
for help from the deck.
In the episode «7 Continents
for 7 Koopas», Bowser assigns each of his seven
Koopalings to take over one of the Real World's continents.
I so happy the
koopalings are back
for a 2nd game!
Super Smash Bros.
for Wii U / Nintendo 3DS, despite being the best all - around Smash Bros. so far, kind of took a step back in this regard, which made less sense than ever seeing as some characters (Bowser Jr. /
Koopalings and Olimar / Alph) simply swapped into identical characters.
For the first time ever in any game, all of Bowser's seven
Koopalings are playable characters.
