Shamim M. Momin is the Director, Curator, and co-founder of LAND (Los Angeles Nomadic Division), a non-profit public art organization committed to curating site - and situation - specific contemporary art projects, in Los Angeles and beyond.

Recent projects in a collaboration with Seattle based artist, Susan Robb on an unscripted work of land art «Wild Times», which will cultivate and share the wild terrain that resides in us all.

Crimp begins in New York, where he landed after studying art history at Tulane University, with a neighbor at his 98th Street apartment who «made a project of turning me into an art - world insider.»

Freije has been awarded the following residencies and awards: Land Securities Studio Award; Chelsea Arts Club Trust Special Project Award; Advanced Course in Visual Arts (professor Matt Mullican), Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como, Italy; Red Mansion Residency, Beijing, China; and Pirye Prize, Oxford University.

Her work was included in Sites of Reason: A Selection of Recent Acquisitions at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the Manifest Destiny billboard project, organized by LAND in 2014.

The pieces featured in this exhibition provide entry points into bodies of work that construct robust narratives, representing ongoing projects and life - long dedications of twelve artists maintaining practices with the essential studio support of LAND in NYC, Hozhoni in Flagstaff, Creative Growth and NIAD in the Bay Area, First Street Gallery Art Center and ECF in Los Angeles, and Creative Vision Factory in Wilmington, Delaware.

Feminist Land Art Retreat (est. 2010) was born with a poster on the wall of Exercise Projects in Vancouver, depicting mirrored images of Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty.
