In a press
release this morning, Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has announced that they have been working with Overdrive to integrate the Kindle into a
library lending friendly
system and will be rolling out the product of these efforts later this year.
Each
system's
library of games differed hugely from its opponent's, and cross-platform
releases were the exception rather than, as it is now, the norm.
Within months of the
system's
release, this wasn't the exception, but the rule when it came to the Wii's software
library.
All
systems in the 3DS family have access to the same excellent game
library, which includes hits like The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Fire Emblem: Awakening, plenty of digital indies and just about any game
released for the original Nintendo DS.
Because Nintendo exerted such strict control over what games could be
released for their
system, the quality of the game
library was (and is) extremely high.
When it
released on the Wii U it was one of the best games on the
system and right now, you have to say that the sequel is one of the best games on the Switch, even though the latter's
library is arguably significantly stronger than its predecessors.
With only 114 U.S. game
releases and fairly reasonable aftermarket prices, the Sega Master
System is an increasingly popular target for collectors who want to try amassing a single console's entire
library.
«We're
releasing software into next year: the fact that it's a
system with a low price and a larger
library makes it appealing to kids, who might want to buy it as their first console.»
All
systems in the 3DS family have access to the same excellent game
library, which includes hits like The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Fire Emblem: Awakening, plenty of digital indies and just about any game
released for the original Nintendo DS.
We are pleased to
release System Folders Customizer, a free tool that lets you add Internet Explorer, important
System folders, Control Panel applets to your This PC, Computer folder,
Libraries and Desktop in Windows 10 / 8/7.
With this much popularity and a
library of popular games, it wouldn't be surprising for Nintendo to
release more
systems in that format.
