love that the beans themselves look just like
little kalamata
olives, dary and shiny and purpley.
Love taking fresh tomatoes basil green onions and black beans and tossing them in a
little bit of
olive oil and balsamic, if you have peppers and other veggies throw them in as well.
While I
love the largess of the standard heirlooms and can nearly taste the bite of fresh mozzarella with basil and
olive oil just by looking at them, the
little bitties are the guys that get me every time.
I
love parsnip fries too — with just a
little olive oil, rosemary, and sea salt.
Olives are one of the few foods I feast on when I travel, and every time I eat them fresh in the Mediterranean, I fall a

I
love brussels sprouts and I
love buffalo sauce but I didn't really want to deep fry them, so I just roasted the brussels with
olive oil and Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce (then tossed them in a
little more buffalo sauce because they got a
little dry).
And I
love the brininess of the
olives with the
little bit of sweetness from the roasted red peppers.
We
loved the skin grilled filet of John Dory,
olive oil grilled and marinated vegetables, but for us, it was the always the «Six
Little Sins» that won the day.
I
love the addition of raw summer sweet corn — and I really think you'll dig the fresh flavor — but if uncooked corn is a personal dealbreaker, feel free to grill your ear beforehand OR give the kernels a quick sauté in a
little olive oil.

I switched my original use of butter lettuce to spinach and beet greens for the purposes of this blog post, mostly as I
love beet greens and I hate waste (the larger, more robust leaves from this bunch were eaten last night, sautéed in
olive oil with shallots, garlic and a
little bit of salt).
This one has a base of salad leaves but I've tried to incorporate all the other things that I
love to add to make salads more interesting... fruit for sweetness, nuts for a bit of crunch and cheese for a bit of creamy saltiness, all finished off with a
little dressing made from a simple mix of lemon juice, vinegar and
olive oil.
1 cup uncooked Pear Barley (boil it with 3.5 cups water, until all water is absorbed, make sure it is nice and soft for baby, if not add more water) a
little onion (a thin slice, chopped very fine).5 — 1 tsp minced garlic (adjust to personal taste, my baby
loves garlic) 10 mushrooms, chopped fine a handful of spinach or field greens, chopped a sprinkle of cheese of your choice (more if you are trying to add calories in diet) a splash of
olive oil
Betty's Tips: I
love adding kale to my daily green smoothies, sauteeing it in a
little olive oil and garlic — and it's great with a
little sea salt and
olive oil broiled for a few minutes into kale chips.
1/3 -1 / 2 lb turkey tenderloin, cubed 1/4 cup sesame seeds — raw or toasted (to toast, just spritz a heated skillet with a
little olive oil or cooking oil spray, spread the sesame seeds evenly out and cook until golden, stirring a few times) ** another variation I
love is to take 2 T hemp seeds and 2 T sesame seeds and use that mixture to coat the turkey
2 slices of gluten - free bread, toasted (I used Rice Pecan Bread by Food for Life) 2 T Betty Rocker's Dairy Free Basil Pesto 1 cup spinach, sauteed with a

I have a nice size kitchen with very
