fat diets for weight loss, athletes — and the people who work closely
with them — have been experimenting
with inputs and outputs
with much -
higher stakes in mind.
The people I know
with the greatest body compositions (
low - body
fat and great musculature) all eat relatively
higher protein
diets,
with some eating very
high carb, and others eating moderate
carb and moderate
fat.
This idea that saturated
fat caused heart disease was the cornerstone of modern nutrition policy and the reason health authorities turned away from a
higher fat diet rich in animal foods, towards a
low -
fat,
high -
carb diet with plenty of grains.
As you'll discover below, most of the
lower carb diet foods you think help you burn
fat could actually be making you
fatter with every bite, while eating many of the
high carb foods you try to avoid can actually help you burn MORE
fat.
It's possible to get great results
with lower carb high -
fat or a Paleo
diet for people
with type 1 diabetes.

diet), each for about 8 months interspersed

high carb reduced calorie
diet I was on (I was marathon training at the time) didn't just mess
with my body, it also messed
with my mental health badly.
And in my experience, it works like gangbusters when combined
with resistance training (and / or HIIT) and a

high protein,
high fat diet.

with adding more
carbs to my previously
low carb high fat, medium protein
diet (I think I was on 50 - 100 grams
carbs a day, for about 10 years) after reading PHD.
I find it easy to stick to a «Keto» or
low carb /
high fat diet and don't miss
carbs at all (partly because I know the pain of misophonia that comes
with them, & to simply just give up
carbs to get rid of it is an easy trade - off in my life).
Another argument agains that most GI
diets are
low in
fat and
high in
carbs (it is the
high carb part in the sentence that I have the problem
with) is that many
low GI authors realize that it is important also to take the Glygemic load (GL) into account and quite frankly it is impossible or extremely difficult to keep a
low GL
diet on a
low fat /
high carb regime.
