Sicario is a well written story, however the film does fall short in some scenes with slow moving plot points and a handful of unnecessary scenes.

Nonetheless, Sicario deserves praise for a gripping story, stellar and intense action pieces, strong performances in most characters as well as a chilling finish which will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.

«Sicario» was just a slicker version of the American TV show «The Bridge».

The problem with Sicario is that it is too much of an infuriating mystery before it becomes anything else.

It's always a treasure when a filmmaker and score composer collaborate on a number of projects, and the latest team up between director Denis Villeneuve and Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson has been delivering stunning result after stunning result (also see: Sicario).

Whether it's the movies he's written, «Sicario» or «Hell or High Water,» or his directorial debut «Wind River,» Taylor Sheridan has based a thriving career on examining the true nature of masculinity.

Add cinematographer Roger Deakins to the mix, who worked with Villeneuve on Prisoners and Sicario and earned two Oscar nominations for his trouble, and the prospect only becomes more exciting.

Following on from the arrival of a new clip, poster and banner a few days ago, Lionsgate has debuted another one - sheet for director Denis Villeneuve's upcoming action thriller Sicario featuring Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin.

Soldado (a.k.a. Sicario 2) director Stefano Sollima says the sequel is a standalone film and that Sicario 3 is already being planned.

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for the upcoming action thriller Sicario, which is directed by Denis Villeneuve and stars Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Jon Bernthal and Victor Garber.

Even before its late detour into action movie silliness (including a ridiculous badass set piece that belongs in a James Bond movie) Sicario feels like a film whose immaculate craft disguises its hollow center.

I don't have a single complaint with Sicario.

Following the superb teaser back in February, Paramount Network has released the official trailer for «Sicario» scribe and «Wind River» writer - director Taylor Sheridan's event series «Yellowstone».

From Prisoners to Enemy to Sicario and now Arrival, the Canadian - born director has championed thought - provoking humanist cinema with a genre tinge.

Josh Brolin has a charismatic approach to his off the record ways of doing business, but it's Benicio Del Toro portraying a calm and collected yet seemingly haunted older man with a wealth of knowledge of how things work around the border, that simply ends up snatching Sicario for his own throughout the final act.

Writer and director Taylor Sheridan (writer of Hell or High Water and Sicario) delivers a tightly wound suspense thriller as intense as it is unpredictable.

The beauty of Sicario however is that, much like Kate, we're not really clear who she's working for or what the true intentions of this top - secret government unit really are.

Sicario and Hell or High Water are two of my favorite movies in recent years.

Sicario, a fall release that addressed the war on drugs in both the United States and Mexico, led all films with five nominations including Best Picture and Best Director for Denis Villeneuve.
