In my opinion both as a Children's Nutrition Advocate and a Mom,
Lunchables do not constitute a healthy lunch.
I would like to also note that this makes way better tacos than
those lunchables did when I was in grade school.
Most importantly though, I prefer the mommy marketing of healthy foods over the sort of marketing companies like
Lunchables does to promote garbage.
Not exact matches
Many people I know (and I used to be one of them when I didn't know any better,;)-RRB- buy pre-made
lunchables or frozen meals for lunch.
Now, I don't think one
Lunchable is going to put anyone's health over the edge, but please tell me we can all agree this is not what we should be feeding our children on a weekly basis.

did the same in early 2007 with its British version of
Lunchables.

did this with my sister, because she was going on a field trip and wanted
lunchables, but they looked gross, so i said i would make something nicer, and i
did the pizza idea, but with «real» food, and then gave her a homemade pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting.

My original comment ascribed the «don't rely on
Lunchables because of the sodium» discussion to Ellie Krieger, which was incorrect; you're right that it was Nancy Snyderman.
Now, she
did hasten to say that she «wouldn't recommend» that parents rely solely on
Lunchables because of the «sodium content,» but really?
Others wonder why we force them to waste food, don't want to spend $ 2.00 (or whatever) for a meal the child won't consume and pack a
lunchable so the child has something to eat.
Some non-traditional things we've had success with are
do it yourself pizzas (look at a
lunchable for inspiration — I used frozen bread dough to make small crusts).
In the U.K., our two
Lunchables products
do not contain any food dyes as they
do not have any treats.»
And being a small start - up operation we
do not have the economies of scale the larger fast food or packaged food companies
do, and so our pricing is higher than a
Lunchable or Happy Meal.
We're competing with parents who are still buying
lunchables, packing flaming hot cheetos, and dropping of bags of Subway and Burger King if they don't like what you're serving, or just brown bagging from home.
According to the
Lunchables commercial, «It doesn't get better than this.»
You just don't get that with buying a
Lunchable and throwing it in your kid's backpack... Anyone can take a little extra time... and show their own kids how much they care.
I definitely appreciate my parent's eating style and influence on my eating a lot more now than I
did when I was eating buckwheat for school lunch while my friends had
lunchables.
But at least is bought me a meal that didn't come in a
Lunchables box.
