Story: Lilly was an owner surrender to the shelter and was found to have severe dental disease needing blood work and dental surgery, suspected collapsed trachea due to frequent coughing, bilateral
luxating patellas, and a heart condition indicated
on previous vet records.
For some dogs the pain and discomfort of a
luxating patella can force them to not walk at all, or at the very least attempt to walk solely
on their front legs as they keep their hind legs in the air.

on joints, worsening an existing condition.
Many of these little ones can not have shots or have bad reactions, are at high risk for surgeries like spay and neuter, do nt handle anesthesia well, many have physical issues like
luxating patellas and collapsable tracheas... the list goes
on and
on.

on it may produce an extraordinary number of offspring with
luxating patellas even though the dog in question is phenotypically normal.
