While you are training anaerobically, do
a MAF test every week instead of every month, and keep an eye on your speed.

I have just completed the 2
week test, and for the last 4
weeks been training for 1 hour sessions on the spin bike at my
MAF max (134 bpm.)
(amazing to see sometimes you have spent 10 - 20 % of a run above 148 HR if you don't keep an eye on it)-- Conduct regular
MAF tests on both bike and run (I use watts for bike and pace for run)-- Keep blocks of anaerobic work no longer than 2 - 3
weeks then return to aerobic work only.
What I would do is run at the
MAF heart rate, and do
MAF tests every 2
weeks to keep track of your aerobic speed.
A simple 80 % aerobic 20 % anaerobic (where 20 % includes both training and racing) is more than enough, provided that you do an
MAF test every 2
weeks to keep track of your aerobic base.
I had been prior to the
test training using the
MAF method for about 3
weeks, after having cheated for a couple of
weeks with a
MAF HR higher than the formula's 127 bpm (in my case).

week test so have read on this site the list of «YES» foods and the list of «NO» foods — legumes feature on the «NO» list here but on the «YES» list on the
MAF App — please could you clarify whether they are a «YES» or a «NO» food?
