mdf before you started the actual art?
I've heard
MDF can be tough on blades because of the glue it has in it, but I go through blades pretty quickly anyway, so I don't think it matters.
Okay, the fact that it is sprayed on historic brick isn't so wonderful, so don't go
doing that, but you can make graffiti art in your own space by painting on stretched or non-stretched canvas, plywood, or any large piece of discarded construction material like plasterboard, or
mdf.

As for the subwoofer, the black wood - grain vinyl finish on the
MDF cabinet is attractive enough, but it doesn't mock a real - wood finish very effectively.
Right out of the box, it's clear that Yamaha didn't cut corners with the SRT - 1000, which boasts a hefty
MDF enclosure that feels as solid as an oak.
I
did use
MDF in my bedroom and wish that I had stuck with real wood.
We added some more of the
MDF we got at True Value to the wall nearest our bedroom door this past week... We got almost all the way to the top of the wall before we realized we didn't have quite enough to finish.

did you sand the
mdf cabinet doors here down before you painted them?
Another slatted ceiling, This one is
done with real wood so it has more character than the
MDF style slats.
Our
MDF was super smooth, and pre-primed, so we didn't have an issue painting it.
It doesn't look like there are any screw holes on any part of the
MDF.
We grabbed our True Value gift card and headed back to the Tallassee (Alabama) True Value to buy a few more pre-primed
MDF 1 × 6's, and here's what we decided to
do last Friday afternoon...

we
did something very similar... but added an extra «frame» of
mdf around the perimeter and also in the opposite direction of the paneled ceiling to hide our seams... hard to explain... but it finished it of nicely.
i showed it to the guy at the lumber store and he didn't have 1/4 ″
MDF.
I myself
did a complete faux kitchen, complete with faux shaker style cabinets (I added flat trim to frame out the existing basic
MDF cabinets), faux granite painted countertops (not from a kit either!)
I am wondering though... I saw that you didn't have good results with the
mdf you used as trim but you recently used
mdf for your floating shelves in the kitchen.

MDF into studs?
I didn't use any nails or staples to attach my frame to the
MDF board.
We
did the same thing with the window and door casings with Metrie's 3 1/2 ″ step casing and 3 1/2 ″ flat stock
mdf.
BIG MISTAKE, because I ended up having to
do 6 coats of chalkboard paint because it kept soaking up into the
MDF board.

The clever
do - it - yourselfer behind the project nailed old hardcovers onto an
MDF board.
Most paneled walls are
done with
MDF.
Recently out of sheer frustration, I got this sudden urge to clean (a rare thing, trust me) and while I was unearthing items to donate or chuck, I found some
MDF coasters from waaay back when (so far back I don't even remember where I got them from!).
I might just be able to make those, would make nice little gift just cause for a friend
