MOBI file if they get the eBook file directly from him.
The eBook will be delivered to their Kindle and you won't have to worry about some stranger distributing
your MOBI file if you sent the file to them directly.

files, but it also creates
MOBI files, and you can use its WYSIWYG editor to tweak the resulting
files,
if you want to fix any formatting problems.
If you already have a program on your computer that opens
MOBI files, you may be able to use it to save the
MOBI file to one of a different format.
I also believe that there is less of a chance of conversion issues
if you upload a
MOBI file for Amazon and an ePUB for the other outlets.
One advantage to all the methods that generate
MOBI files is that
if the
MOBI file looks good, the Kindle
file will look good, since they're pretty much the same thing.
So
if you have Kindle for PC, you can use it to read
MOBI files.

MOBI files have to be DRM - free because

It's easy enough to learn about eBook publishing, I promised her, and I'd handle her eBook's editing, and the conversion of her Word or PDF
file to Kindle's
mobi format (and to Barnes and Noble's Nook format, too,
if she were interested in even wider eBook distribution).
If there's an issue, I go back to the source doc in Jutoh and fix it there, then regenerate the ePub and
Mobi files.
The plus point of changing your
file into a
MOBI format is that you can have the option to place it straight onto your device in the documents section, email it to your device with your special Kindle email address (you can find this in your Amazon account settings) OR get it directly from your web browser
if you save it into a Dropbox folder.
If you'd like to sell your book on Amazon, iBooks, or of the ebook marketplaces, you'll also need a

If you have your own collection of DRM - Free EPUB,
MOBI and DOC
files, you can convert them to the PDF format using Calibre.

if you'd mind sharing how you are going to create this

Calibre is probably the best way to make small
files... but then you can't edit them
if their are problems with the
mobi.

mobi file will show up as a little blue book and will say «kindle content» (
if they haven't changed it again!).

mobi file, then she'd need two ISBNs.

if the publishers said that Amazon told them the Kindle will physically hold and show the EPUB
file — it will now support EPUB standards in its readers — or
if Amazon told the publishers that they can * submit * their digital book
files for Kindle in EPUB format (which is not new... Amazon does an EPUB to
MOBI conversion for publishers).
If you have an extensive collection of EPUB, TEXT or
MOBI files, you can convert them to PDF by using Calibre.
But
if you're distributing

All of Amazon's e-readers only read AZW, PRC, and
MOBI files, so keep that in mind
if you are doing your own ebook converting or buying from companies that sell them in this format.
Calibre can convert ePub to
mobi / Kindle format and vice versa, but only
if there is no DRM on the book
file.
