The University of Colorado at Denver is home to Copper Nickel, a literary magazine founded by Jake Adam York, whose poetry collection Abide (Southern Illinois University Press, 2014) was a posthumous finalist for the NBCC award.

Award - winning literary magazine publishing work by winners and finalists for the Pulitzer Prize, MacArthur Genius Grant, National Book Award; first timers; and poets from 5 continents.

All three Shelf Media titles have been honored as 2014 Maggie Award Finalists for Best Digital - Only Magazine.

She was a finalist in Narrative Magazine's Story Contest and earned an Honorable Mention in Glimmer Train's Short Story Award for New Writers competition.

Her cover story about the challenges and opportunities facing the growing number of women who travel on their own, «Courage and Caution,» was a 2014 finalist for a Folio magazine Eddie Award.
