Recently,
Marriott has introduced several positive
changes to the program, one of which is the ability to share with another
Marriott Rewards member.

Having SPG and
Marriott Rewards not join into one program in 2018 is probably a positive for most people — primarily it gives SPG and
Marriott elites more time to earn lifetime status in their respective programs before any
changes are put through but also it prolongs the time that SPG loyalists have to enjoy the program they so love.
Recently,
Marriott announced four
changes to the
Marriott Rewards program that are all, to one degree or another, a net positive for members.

Marriott Rewards have told him of some upcoming positive
changes to the loyalty program.
These
changes are clearly a net negative for
Marriott Rewards members but it's seems to me like there may be one or two people using a few too many hyperbole to describe them — they're definitely bad but they're not a bloodbath.

Marriott is profitable as it is and its Membership
Rewards program works very well for the corporation so why
change things to keep a few SPG elites happy?
Yes, overall none of this is good news, but the fact remains that
Marriott Rewards Points haven't taken a serious hit in this set of
changes and we don't have to find more points when we want to redeem at top
Marriott properties — if that's all they're going to do this year I'll definitely take it.
In case anyone was thinking that they could simply
change the address on their
Marriott Rewards account to get the promotion well, that wont work either:
