To reach top
tier status with Delta (Diamond
Medallion status) travelers need to earn an extra 25,000 elite qualifying miles (or what Delta calls
Medallion Qualifying Miles) compared to what American and United flyers need to earn in their respective programs.
Elevate Your
Status allows Members to purchase a bundle of
Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), MedallionQualification Segments (MQSs) and
Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs — U.S. - based Members only) in order toachieve the next
Tier of
Medallion Status.
Status will continue to be earned using the same dual -
tier system introduced for 2014, namely through a combination of
Medallion Qualification Miles or
Medallion Qualification Segments plus the new
Medallion Qualification Dollars.
The final
tier in the SkyMiles program is Diamond
Medallion status, which normally requires 125,000 MQMs or 140
Medallion - qualifying segments plus $ 15,000 MQDs.
The third
tier in the SkyMiles program is Platinum
Medallion status, which normally requires 75,000 MQMs or 100
Medallion - qualifying segments plus $ 9,000 MQDs.
