changes really made it much more difficult to rack up
Membership Rewards in the long - run compared to pre-2014 days.

Flying Blue has become more and more relevant for US - based travelers as it has gradually become a transfer partner for all three of the major transferable currencies in the US — Amex
Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points and, as of last month, Chase Ultimate
Rewards — so any positive
changes to the program are very welcome.
The past couple of weeks have seen a huge
change in the ratio for transferring American Express
Membership Rewards to Avios, which is the award program of British Airways and Iberia.

Travel with Grant reports that Amex is sneaking a
change to their transfer rates with regards to British Airways Avios, one of the more useful transfer partners in the

Luckily, there were still Standard Awards (now called Advantage awards) for that date, so I poured Chase Ultimate
Rewards and Amex

changed our flight to SQ221 for 70,000 additional SQ miles per passenger.
As for my return, I booked Lisbon — Frankfurt — Chicago in Lufthansa First Class using 62,500 Air Canada Aeroplan miles, transferred from American Express
Membership Rewards, and then Chicago - Pittsburgh with 4,500 Avios (there wasn't availability on the United flight, plus I would have had to have called Air Canada to book a 3 - flight one - way itinerary which would have incurred a $ 30 phone fee, so I was okay with spending Avios and flying American over United when a terminal
change would be required for both).
With this
change, it will cost us even more when transferring
Membership reward points to BA Avios.

Hilton has announced 45 major
changes to its

change from HHonors to Honors, the chance to pool points among family and friends, a flexible «Slider» to use cash and points at all their hotels, the chance to use Honors points at Amazon and the ability to keep your Diamond
membership in a year of less travel!
And, according to Costco, its executive

It's
changes like these that are the reason I advised people to only transfer Avios for the next 6 - 9 months of travel back in September when AMEX stopped transferring
Membership Rewards points to British Airways at parity.
The
