Membership Rewards points, so picking different cards is a decent strategy.

do it and qualify for the sign - up offer to receive the

Membership Rewards points than I
do United miles, and some of Aeroplan's prices are cheaper for the same ticket.
This is not a great use of
Membership Rewards points, so only
do this if you're close to having enough Hilton
points for an award.
I don't discuss the American Express Premier
Rewards Gold Card in detail in this post, but contrary to the Platinum Card (a good benefits card), the Premier
Rewards Gold offers very good ability to earn
Membership Rewards points with less emphasis on benefits.
I think it is almost the same thing, except the Pay With
Points option means you don't earn additional
Membership Rewards on the purchase on your credit card.
Unfortunately, with only 11,000
Membership Rewards points left after booking the flight out, even if perfect availability existed — which it certainly doesn't in this case — we wouldn't have enough left for a flight on any transfer partner.
But by keeping
points in your
Membership Rewards account, you don't need to transfer them to a partner until you're ready to use them.
Plus, unlike other
Membership Rewards cards, it doesn't allow you to transfer
points to an outside loyalty program.
This works out to roughly 1
Membership Rewards point for 1 Marriott

Membership Rewards points and should be left when you don't have other better options.
