What is at stake are issues of principle — the role of revelation and Scripture in the formation of conscience — that affect matters of doctrine ranging from the place of
the Methodist Quadrilateral in the formation of United Methodist identity to the place of Christ in salvation.
I came out of the
Methodist tradition which is based on the Wesleyan
Quadrilateral which demands that faith be based on four elements — Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience.
