gallery in Bushwick.Now, NM serves the New York City
Metro area with a focus on East New York, Brooklyn, our new local neighborhood.
In the Eighties, NYC
gallery Metro Pictures was a notable pioneer, but even major female gallerists of the era such as Mary Boone and Marian Goodman did not show
art by women until much later.

Metro Pictures, there will be drawings from the 1970s and 1990s and new paintings by Jim Shaw, and Barbara Mathes
Gallery will explore the legacy of Surrealism in contemporary
art, through the works by Yayoi Kusama, Ed Ruscha and Joseph Cornell, among others.

Art Benefit and Auction, will kick - off with a preview exhibition at Regen Projects in Los Angeles on Feb. 26, 2014, continue with parallel shows at the Paula Cooper

Metro Pictures in New York opening on April 5, 2014, and culminate in a special auction of major works donated by CalArts alumni, faculty and friends at Christie's spring auction on May 13 - 14 in New York.
